End-Game Content

I have a few questions about the end-game content. My highest toon is in his late mid-levels and I was wanting to know if it is really worth it to hit 50. I'm not really the sort that makes a bunch of toons. My main question about the end-game stuff is really if many people run the high level TFs often. If I were to hit 50 would it be easy enough to find a Statesman TF, the I10 Rikti TF, the new time travel TFs, and/or maybe a Hamidon raid? Do people PvP often in places like Recluse's Victory?



In a nutshell, I want to know if people do the high-end stuff often, if not daily. I want to experience all the high end content like TFs, PvP, raids(both Hami and SG raids), etc. Is it worth hitting 50 to do this content or does no one really do it and just reroll at 50. Thanks.

I play on one of the lowest populated servers and finding people to do the STF or the LGTF have never been a problem.

Well I play on villainside, and I used to lead lots of RSF. (3 a day usually), and I heard STF is easier too, so you shouldn't have a problem. however with Lady Grey, in my opinion, it's useless, and I don't really know why people do it, but they do it alot it seem. Also, try and log on the weekend nights for Rikti mother ship raid, those are pretty fun, come as close to usual MMO raid....except it doesn't require lots of tactic . However, for RV, it's mostly for farming, If you want to pvP there though, there' sno problem since you just go in there and kill chinese farmers. Since they won't complain how they are not looking to PvP , Hamidon raid don't happen as often though, atleast not for villains since it require lots of organizing (there's lots of small VG/SG, not alot of big active VG/SG). HOWEVER......for me there's lots of thing to do at 50....I can go and do group missions for rare purple recipe which are highly valuable and profitable. You can never have too many influence/infamy cause the more you have, the more IOs you can equip your character to be more powerful like usual fantasy mmo with all their gear and stuff. Anyway, just so you know, i'm not very fluent with english literacy.

I love CoH, but I hate the fact that when I hit 50 all I do is start a new toon. My 50's collect dust and there is no real end game. Just a couple of TF's and STF's if peeps are not power leveling each other. Nerf the fire kins to fix this issue

I play Villains...there are 4 times less villains then heroes...I play on a low population server...I can join a RSF 3-4 times a day, and LGTF is easily 20 times a day as you can group the heroes.   I am in a few specialised channels and most offers are done in these.  I would assume the SG woulds also provide you some offers, but regardless, you can find plenty offers in these channels.

 

The raids are less often, but still happening...rikti warship is more popular then the Hamidon because it is more recent.

 

All the purples IO can drop while soloing.  So the main reason to do these is because you like it.  Soloing is slower and definitely poorer, but it is definitely viable...and you would get more salvages while soloing, so it is not all bad.

 

Still, most peoples rather do a RSF/STF then solo, but the option is yours for the best rewards (purples IO).  Doing the STF would only help you speed the acquisition, by no means an obligation.

 

EDIT: Acquiring all the 2-5 purples set your character can use, every other IO* set you want a few Hamidon Origin enhancements, all the accolades...this will take a LONG time.  So if you really WANT to max your character...you will be busy for quite sometimes.  If you don't really want to max your character, you still know you CAN and are happy with that and play something else which please you more.  At any rate, you don't feel left out, it is your choice to either advance your main further...or to figure it is too slow and are happy as is and focus on whatever else.

 

EDIT:*You can start working on these "endgame IO" as early as level 10, but only for a very few UNIQUE (less then 10)...and I bet that you won't have more then 5 by level 50 (still need about 40)...assuming you know what you will want for your final built...

It's pretty easy to find people running high level content constantly, I've found.

The STF and Lady Grey TF (The Rikti TF you mentioned, usually referred to as the LGTF) are run nightly or more on most servers I play on; the Shard TFs less frequently but imo they have a lot less replay value than the other two. For TFs I find it's usually best to join your servers most populated badge channel or post on your servers forums- you'll be suprised how quickly you can usually fill up a TF team using them.

Hami raids are a different story, and depend a lot on what server you're on. For example, I know Justice runs Hami raids regularly and I'm pretty sure Virtue and a couple others do as well. Liberty though, to the best of my knowledge has run *maybe* one successful raid since the new Hami was launched.

Pvp, especially zone pvp, is more a product of the servers pvp population, with my experience being Sirens', then Warburg, then RV being the zones of choice. There are 2 or 3 servers with fairly large (or at least vocal) pvp populations, and if that is an area of interest for you you might consider the possibility of a server transfer. Best of my knowledge, Freedom is the unofficial pvp server, Infinity is Freedoms nearest rival minus a lot of the drama, and Liberty has quite a few of the hardcore pvp SG/VGs.

SG raids is entirely based on whether you join -or are already a part of- a raiding SG or not. For that I would troll around the pvp forums and do a little research if that's something you're truly interested in following.

In a nutshell- yes, there is plenty of activity in doing the high end content if that's what you're really interested in.
