10 Hour client download wtf?

What is this on my vanguard client it says 10 hours estimated download time? Is this a glitch i just cant believe this is possible i can pull down 8-9 gigs in 3 hours with my connection so for me this is mindblowing. Anyone else getting this type of issue?

Just cancel and restart, soe's patchers have a tendency to "hang up". May happen to you a few times.
Just started mine and it's estimating 2 and a half hours.
are there any ports i should forward or anything of the like i have no firewall btw and i did cancel and restart but i still get the same outrageous times
Not sure, windows asked me if i wanted to block the program and clicked Unblock. That was all and i seem to be getting a decent download speed. The vanguard forum does state that it can take around 7 hours even on a good connection.
hmm all seems well now that i switched to my dsl connection funny i just speedtested this slower dsl (3mb connection) against my cable connection (9mb) and my cable has more bandwith but on my dsl it now says 2 hours 30 minutes woot!
Well if that's your average speed then it should roughly take about 6-8 hours to download because vanguard is 16.8 gigs on my computer, but it also has to apply the patches as well. After installing the CD's, the patches took about 2 hours to finish.

Yeah, gotta keep in mind the huge patches and the fact that the game itself is about 17gig.

Yeah, i jumped the gun on mine. It downloaded about 11.5GB in the 2.5 hours it predicted then suddently decided it needs another 4 hours to download something esle lol.
Is there a reason this game is so friggin huge? I don't mind the wait, i'm a patient guy but it's probably the biggest game i've ever installed.
Mainly the amount of area in the game and the size of the textures. Not only are there are ton of textures, but the textures in themselves are pretty massive. This is why RAM is a very important factor with Vanguard =p

Have 4gb and a top notch system so shouldnt be too bad, although from reading their forums i shuoldnt be expecting brilliant performance even on my machine.
Have to say, the more i read about it while waiting for the download the more i just want to get stuck in. AoC open beta could be up to 2 months away and this game might just be the one to fill my time waiting for that one.
And it will be , dont worry....
ive got to say every second of that download and install was worth the wait. This game while not polished like WoW is just simply mindblowing the amount of satisfaction i got from just completing a quest in this game does not compare to anything in WoW. I havent felt anything i did in WoW gave me any amount of pride or satisfaction and im an endgame raider btw.
Since the latest patch system memory is not nearly as important as it was in the past. The game will now run in 1GB if you stop any unneeded background stuff and it will never use up a full 2gb no matter what you do.
