I've been playing the beta for a few days and so far everything that I've done has been fun. The quests may get repetative, but I still enjoy them. My only problem is I really don't see this as a completed game. It's kind of like they forgot a few things. What they have in it is great, don't get me wrong. They have really left out a lot of social things. I know it's still in beta and all but for right now I don't see the game as worth the monthly fee seeing as how it just feels like I'm playing a single player game. If they were to add in some form of player housing and something to do other than pvp end game I would gladly hand out the 50 bucks. Well I guess I'm done rambling on now, I just wanted to get my view out. If you like killing things without much need to interact with other people than this is the game for you. If you prefer exploring and social aspects of a game then I suggest you wait and see what Flying Labs does in future patches.

Actually, the game will feel rather empty unless you join a society and engage in group production and/or group pvp. It's those things that form the heart of the game.
It is definitely a niche game, but I'd say if you haven't tried those aspects of it, you haven't bitten into the actual game, only nibbled at the crust a bit.

This was one game I have been looking forward to for along time, and now I finally got a beta invite like 2 weeks ago. I was so happy I installed it updated it after a lot of errors. I made my character ran around I got over the laggy part of the game since I knew it would be that way right now. I have to say I wasn't pleased I loved the way the game looked, I liked the character creation it was pretty cool. I did some quest I have to say this was disappointing to me the combat was horrible the sea combat was off to. I have to say I was let down on this one I have to agree it really doesn't feel like even close to a completed game. I am not much into complete group playing I like my soloing so if it is geared more towards that this game is not for me or anyone who likes to solo most the time.
I can see your point if I were not in a Society (Guild). However, I could say that about any MMORPG. Why would one need to group in WoW?
You can play PotBS all by yourself from 1 to 50 and have minimal interaction with people, or you can join a society (guild) and have lots of people to talk to and play with. The game is MUCH more fun once you're playing with others.
