Naah, waiting for that last drop to fill a PvE epic slot - that's endless grind. Pvp epics come with a flavour of the month class/epc and an hours play a week (i.e. 10 arena games). Skill not needed.
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

Rofl, guys like you make me lol.
10 losing arena games in 5v5 at 1500 rating = 344 points per week, 1376 points per month.
A Season 3 two handed weapon costs 3750 points, requiring nearly three months of weekly "10 losing games" to aquire the item.
A Season 2 two handed weapon costs 3261 points, requiring over 2 1/2 months of losing weekly games to aquire the item.
Season 3 chestpiece, 1875 points, 1 month and roughly 2 weeks time investment.
Season 2 chestpiece, 1630 points, 1 month and 1 week time investment.
Not to mention the 1850 rating requirement on S3 pieces, thats a HUGE hindrance to non-pve players trying to progress in there area of the game to begin with.
You cant possibly be so naive as to think everyone that plays arena is on a 2k+ rated 5v5 and bringing in choice amounts of points weekly, because omg would that ever be full of fail, which it appears to greatly be full of already.
My main has progressed past Kara, SSC, TK and is working on BT and MH currently, and I would rather raid for gear anyday, because its far easier for me to aquire my selective pieces.
It took me less than three months to fill out my T5, look at the above requirements on those pieces and do the math, I don't need to be any clearer.
At the same time, sure raiding has its difficulties, but most of the difficulty stems from how well your particular core group works together, and frankly beating scripted encounters with a good group that know eachother well is an absolute joke as opposed to fighting other, living players in return for gear.
I'm a PvE raider, and theres no way in hell you'll convince me raiding is more work than pvping, Pre-TBC I wouldn't have even argued, post-TBC is simply ridiculous to even say so, especially with dailies negating the need to farm hard for consumables and cash for consumable for raid nights.
Skill? such a subjective term, one not well understood these days, mostly used by callous individuals who toss it around without any idea of its true meaning, just like our OP here.

Now go look at season 1 gear. You can get a full set (16 pieces) in about a 2 or 3 months of play. Not quite as good as season 2 or 3, but pretty darn close. If you just want to get the armor and not all the trinkets and rings and stuff, probably about 1/2 that time.
Sorry to get off topic, but I just had to respond.
I was recently kind of thinking it might be neat to play warcraft again, I looked up my old friends on the armory just for fun and they were in a raiding guild, wtf? I thought this husband wife combo only play like 2 hours a week and I can't really see them raiding, but if I have them and then one additional guy I knew (the husbands brother) maybe I'll have some fun, so I took a look at their gear and it was all pvp rewards and I thought ugg no screw that, I just remembered what I hated about this game. I quit when I was 10 matches and one week away from my first arena season 2 gear, even though it was just 10 matches I just couldn't do it anymore.
I like pvp in eve though, i just hate pvp in wow
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You? if I were to kill a titan tomorrow and no CCP employees showed up to say grats I would petition it. Waiting for: the next MMO that lets me make this macro if hp < 30 then CastSpell("heal") SpellTargetUnit("player") else CastSpell("smite") end
Darkened - except when you go into The Eye for a month and get stomped every single time it doesn't give Epic chest armor for trying your best.
Losing 10 Arena games a week isn't the fastest way to get gear but you will eventually get it whether you deserve it or not. Hopefully with Season 4 they put a Personal Rating restriction on all pieces.
