i had an account that was banned, by blizzard stating that the account information has changed to many time, (what a load of crap).
i was not the OO (ORIGNAL OWNER), and the account was not taken back by the OO, becasue i can still get teh password changed and stuff.
So if you are looking to trade your account, be very carefull at how many times it gets changed, mine got changed 3 times
wow thanks alot blizz, so much for my epiced out pvp gear neatherdrake riding mage
Comments
you wont find any sympathy on these boards, and as i have broken EULA with simple things, to change an account three times is two too many. Especially if it was bought of the internet or whatever it may be.
I have however split an account between my younger brother and I until he was old enough to run his own, and since we share the same last name we split off his character to a separate account and made it his. It was allowed because they only look at the last name on the credit card.
heh... a blizzard rep actually helped me with this and explained it all to me.
"And after blizzard takes over the world, they are gonna gather a bunch of lemmings, sit on their fat asses near a cliff, and watch the little fuzzy bastards suicide dive into the ground below. . . . . all just for their own entertainment."
Way to go Blizzard!!
I don't think that you can really plant this one on Blizzard since you bought the account off someone else without knowing it's history!!
At the end of the day you had the option to buy a fresh box, open your own account and build your own characters.
I am sorry if you lost money on this deal, but you should really be blaming whoever sold you the account in the first place, move on and take this as a life lesson.
It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.
Props Blizzard,
Ebaying scrubs deserve everything they get, your bragging about having a mage, with a netherdrake, and arena gear - when you admit flat out that you didn't dedicate any of your time to advancing the character itself in order to get it to the point it was at?
You got owned, and rightfully so, qq more.
Fixed and QFT.
I am actually impressed to hear Blizzard cares enough to take action like that !! With the rampant gold-selling spam in game and apparent apathy toward enforcing any social rules, I had assumed Blizzard had given up.
*Hooray!*
I find it amusing that the OP thought he would get sympathy for his ebay account getting banned. lol
Well i dont blame bliz for this, and here is why
I have 2 accounts, one for me, and one for my wife. Due to my work i have been forced to move a few times, and have changed adress no less then 4 times on each account. I have never had a problem, i have even changed from using her debit card to mine, and back with out any problems. like a pevious poster stated could be due to he same last name, but we have changed our info.
the OP didn't say he got it off ebay, for all we know he might have worked on the mage with a friend who owned the account, and when he was bored he just gave the account to the OP since he did half the work. once again i don't know if it is the case, but just a differnt view... although if he did buy it off of Ebay or a like site, well then he deserves to ge laughed at.
heres a tip, if you dont have time to lvl a charicter and raid 6 nights a week for epics, start frm scratch and just drool over the purple gear from 10ft away like the rest of us with a life
the missing link in a chain of destruction.

Highly amusing, I nearly spat my coffee all over my new 22' Samsung SyncMaster upon reading it.
Heres a tip:
You wouldn't expect to make top end wages in RL, for devoting less time and effort at your place of employment than another co-worker, would you?
Same scenario applies to mmorpgs, if you want top end stuff, you put in the dedication and effort to succeed, no ifs, ands or buts about it.
I like how every tom, dick and harry who cant hack a video game call down another player who can, oh he must not have a life! lololololol.
Well I have two kids, and my wife and I are both employed at the same office, and BOTH of us have found the time to take care of our RL commitments, spend time with the kids, take care of work, and still have free time for social events and (wait for it.....................) RAIDING!
Its your choice, succeed or fall behind, bottom line.
Actually, I devote less time than most of my co-workers and make more money. The reason for this is the fact that I work smarter and devise numerous shortcuts (granted, not all jobs allow for this, but mine does). My latest shortcut shaved 50% of the work off of the team -- and required very little devotion or effort (it would have taken REAL devotion and effort to do it the original way). The problem with arguing with metaphors and analogies is the fact that they are weak tools for the job.
When I played WoW I paid to have my characters leveled for much the same reason. I hate pointless grinds but, at the time, I enjoyed the game. Unfortunately, my characters still suffered because I refused to get the best eq by raiding. I still enjoyed world pvp, however... not so much the bg's. It all depends on why you play and what you are willing to risk to get to the part that you enjoy. Hey, if you enjoy leveling from 1-70, by all means, have at it. If you want to jump to the endgame, I say life is too short to follow some ridiculous grind that a company thinks is necessary to keep you investing your time and money. And yeah, my accounts are no longer active by choice... I can't imagine going back to such a terrible game.
To the OP: Sorry to hear your account was banned.

Your actions are a blantant misuse of just about every MMO EULA from day one. You should have know better, its a shame that you have confrimed your foolishness by posting about here except that it may prevent the nex fool not to be as foolhardy as you were. GO buy another box and start over. Enjoy!

hey thats great that you have that much time, i for one don't. and the little smiley face was pointing out that i was joking.
i did not mean to get any one upset by saying that if you hav "a life" you can not have purple items. like you said it's your choice. all i was trying to do is say live with the choices you make. I know why i don't have purple gear, and im cool with that. remember it's not getting what makes you happy,it's being happy with what you've got.

Maybe you'd have a different opinion if you actually played the game?

LOL. No. I wouldn't.
Oh, unless you think grinding through all of those levels is the 'fun' of the game. If so, then I might just have to not give it a try. Or, I could not try that. Oh wait, I think not trying that could be a lot of fun. Perhaps I should never try that. See, I'm convinced. Thanks for the talk. I enjoyed it.

Next time, buy your own box, level your own characters, and earn your own gold.

And I bet your co-workers love you to pieces.
So...how much did you spend on a game that was so terrible?? Why wouldn't you just try the game? Might of saved you some money.
I just can't comprehend why someone would pay to have the game played for them?
If you don't like grinding then I would say most MMO's aren't for you.

Grinding through all of those levels IS the game.
The end-game is the grind for gear ect.

Its funny how so many people don't realise this.
The "grind" is the game!!!!
Therefore its not really a "grind" at all. It's playing the game that you are paying for, instead of paying someone to play the game you are paying for.
If you're concerned about WoW's grind I suggest you consider switching genres.
And never playing a game with repetitive elements.
And only playing games where there is no 'end game', or ending.
In fact, I think you had better stop playing games altogether.
Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...
ROLFMAO! Good job Blizzard! Thats why I love Blizzard and HATE those thieves at SOE! I have reported raid guild members for hacking, cheating, and buying accounts in EQ-NADA. I report em in WoW and the jerks are gone!
The real messed up community is in EQ/Vanguard, SOE doesn't ban cheaters-they protect them and nurture them. Blizzard bans em. I was sick of cheating morons buying accounts, then joining MY raid guild, and by passing loot because they fricken bought it on their character, and STEALING the best loot with horded DKP.
I proved to a GM a group of cheaters were passing account info on a Necromancer parked on a spawn, SOE did nothing. Screw non-instancing, cheaters, and hackers. BAN em for life!
If you have any questions please ask. I have moved on to WoW from eq and no longer have any desire to play a dead game. Thank you. (posted by another selling his account in EQ1)
I'm suprised your mother allowed you to borrow her credit card to buy the account! If the account was passed on by family or a friend you could talk to Blizzard about it.
As everyone suspects you bought the account, then you got ever thing you deserved.

I'm not sure what the total amount spent on WoW was, I would say a few hundred to get a couple 60's, and then a few others to 40-50 or so. I also bought a lot of gold. I honestly don't know the final total. Oh, and I did lose my sanity at one point and leveled, on my own, my druid from 60 to 70. Before that I had played a Paladin from 1 to 40. I'm not sure how people can stand it.
As to why I would pay to have someone play the game for me, I think that one is easy to answer. I enjoyed World PvP. Going to Southshore, or any of a number of other places, and slugging it out with Horde was fun. Basically, a person might play guild wars and create a pvp only level 20 character just to participate in pvp -- That's basically what I did. I spent a few hundred dollars and got several characters I could go out and PvP with, and not worry about running into someone that was 10 or 20 levels higher than me. My eq was decent, and I made up for what I lacked with skill and tactics (which wasn't always enough, but that was okay).
An MMO that focuses on PvP would not be a grind to me. Leveling from 1st to maximum would be fine if every moment was a PvP moment. Unfortunately, very few MMO's have that ability. So yes, you are absolutely correct, most MMO's are not for me.
The definition of a grind is something repetitive that is not enjoyable. It is a timesink. I find it sad that people settle for games with a "grind". That is NOT what a game is. A game is fun, and if you're not having fun I suggest leaving that game.
People should expect more, because when they do then companies will deliver it.

Edit for aghastness: After rereading Irish_red's, Wikkedbowtie's, and Recant's posts on how wonderful the "grind" is, I am in awe of the marketing strategy of Blizzard and companies like it. They actually convinced you that the grind was a "good" thing, or worse, a "necessary" thing. Evil geniuses. Well, good on you all for falling for it. Time is money, and I spent a lot less time and money to have fun. I hope all of you are doing the same.
