Diversity Laws a hinderance in some states?

After thinking about diversity laws it makes me think that people of an ethnic background or a woman is at a disadvantage simply because they get special treatment.  As a white man I know that I have to be the absolute best in order to get any job because I know if there is an equally competent or maybe slightly less competent person of an ethnic background or a woman will get the job instead to promote "diversity".  As a result I work atleast 80 hours a week to better my skill sets and better myself.

However, do people of ethnic backgrounds and women have to try so hard?  I know in the 1950's they did but today they don't seem to be since we teach that they can get a position of power simply by being born special.  They don't have to compete on an equal playing field.  I think in most states diversity laws can be abolished because they no longer have as rascist an approach to hiring.  What does everyone else think?

You can't people like each other. The best thing to do is to utilize contract law to keep employers and employees from abusing one and other.

It's not only with jobs my son is having problems getting into school right now because he is a white male. He pretty much has had to score higher on the ACT and have a better GPA then other minorities. Thats affirmetive actions so called equality.
