Was watching some tube the other night when Underworld the movie came on. Started to think that this would make a pretty good MMO. Vampire's, Lycon's and humans all waring against each other. Could set the game in old mid evil times or modern day.
Think of a open sandbox world, pretty much the way SWG pre-cu was set up. No class or lvls, just skill points that you would use with some type of skill tree. Proffession specific quests that would garner better skills. player made items and pvp that actually means something.
Can you imagine human's, vampires and the lycon's holding differant area's spread across the planet, that could be set up as base's that could be attacked at any time that would give some type of advantage to the controlling faction that is holding it.
Basically an MMO that uses the pre-cu model, without the SW theme.

I think WhiteWolf/CCP are doing a Vampire themed MMORPG, or was it Funcom ?I forgot .
I had ideas about this too. I always wanted to be a werewolf in a MMO! But here are my examples...
1.There are no boring human race but there are: vampire, lycan, processed, shadow, mutant, undead
2.Your race is bind to your class, vampires are skillful warrior with secondary powers, shadow are rouges, undead were brought back by magic so their spell casters, processed are a multi-option class, it depends of what demon their processed by, and I don't know I need to come up with more.
3.Humnaty is dead but there is a new source of food and power, and it's a war over that.
I know, it's not very good. I think I'm going somewhere with the race options though. No humans, just creatures like things.
MMORPG = Many Men Online Role Playing Girls
Yeah it's true. I'm looking forward to it, and it better damn well be very M rated.
I had come up with a whole idea for an MMO based on horror creatures as well, and it was definetely to be rated M, although I had originally based it in victorian times (from Vanhelsing) although I think having it set in the same era as underworld would probably work better.
White Wolf/CCP
However, it will in all likelihood be based off the new Vampire rulebook(s), which means it will blow ass.
Should have knocked it out in the pre-Gehenna days. Something like Bloodlines, but without Jack, and MMO.
I think Whitewolf's Vampire the masquerade would make a very unique and interesting MMORPG. Its a complex system however, but one I think can be adapted to online play. I look forward to news on that game.
Torrential
Torrential: DAOC (Pendragon)
Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
I dunno about the whole Underworld thing, vampires yes, Underworld.. meh. Anyway, currently you could give Dark Eden a go if you're into that kinda thing, and Gravity Co. has a horror based game, but I don't know if it will ever cross the ocean. I think White Wolf is probably a better concept for an mmo.. so long as they make sure to block all variations of 'Alucard' as a name.
I really hope so.

WoW and fast food = commercial successes.
I neither play WoW nor eat fast food.
Funcom's next MMO after Age of Conan will be called The Secret World. Not much is known about it yet (as heavy focus won't be put on it until AoC launches), except that it is modern day horror/conspiracy themed with a few Cthulhu Mythos inspirations thrown in for good measure.

I dunno, I always felt that one of the smartest things White Wolf ever did was pushing the reset button on 13+ years of convoluted "our story NPCs are better than yours" metaplot garbage.
