I just quit WoW today, I'm just not into it anymore, mostly because 95% of the time I did instances people were horrible and we wiped wayy to much....also I hate how long it takes to level to 70. So, besides all of that, what MMO should i start playing now? I was thinking EQ2 or SWG....but I dont know how any of them are. So, Im asking you what game do you think I would have the most fun playing?
By the way, I really liked the concept of wow (Fantasy type) so If there is anything like that!

Well go cold turkey for maybe 2 weeks then maybe look to a new release,If you like the fantasy thing like wow then maybe keep your eye out for AION or maybe AoC,Of the games out now I wouldnt go near SWG you wont enjoy it basically as it is a dying game with low population,Maybe eq2 can keep you going till 1 of the new games come out,Also keep an eye on TCOS as a sleeper hit if you like to think as you play instead of just mashing some keys.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

wait for age of conan
Wait for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning!
I wrote an article on how to find your next MMORPG on my site (listed below).
Also check out the listings in the LFGAME board on this site.
If you are thinking about EQ2 or SWG, it sounds like you are a PVE kind of player. If that is the case, WoW is still the best PVE based game currently released. It may be all you need is some time off from WoW and after a while you can return to WoW with renewed vigor. Both SWG and EQ2 has free trials available, try both of them.
Torrential
Torrential: DAOC (Pendragon)
Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
Ya, but I'm looking for a game for right now...until that comes out.
Daylight01 said Eq2, but is the leveling system in that game just as long/annoying as WoW's?
now that WOW has speeded up leveling I would say it is even longer,Though for a fantasy MMo you dont have much choice LOTRO is about the same and Vanguard is alot longer(even if you have the system to run it) I would suggest just get a game till 1 of the new 1s release TCOS is due q1 and AoC the end of q1 so not too long now.Ya, but I'm looking for a game for right now...until that comes out.

I was in the same boat you were after leaving WoW.After 1 year and a half of searching and buying games and playing the free 30 days i have finally found my game.Everquest 2.The most fun ive had since lets say SWG.Im having more fun then i did in WoW.I wish id haven given this game a try earlier becasue it really is a great game.I started on the PvP server and ITS A BLAST.Theres lots of people around the new zones are BEAUTIFUL and the new cities are no longer instanced and the zones no longer have multiple instances.Give it a shot it wont dissapoint.LOTS of classes a cool skill system (AA's) plenty of zones and hundreds of quests.Turn the settings all the way up and this game really is beautiful.

look youst get warhammer whene it comes out becazse its the most fantasy like i mean age of conan is kinda realictic so get wahamer
If you think WoW takes too long to max level, you won't cut it in EQ2.
If wiping was your main concern, find a better guild. If that means changing servers, so be it. It's not the game's fault your groups wiped so much.... and you certainly won't find any good games that level quicker or easier than WoW.
Good luck!
I feel bad for you. I left WoW a year ago, and as another of my forum posts says, I have been adrift this whole time. Nothing has caught my attention like WoW.
You can try EQII
SWG may be a bit on the downturn right now
If you really liked WoW, try LotRO. Very solid if a bit dumbed down.
Other than these, I can't think of anything (maybe Vanguard?). I hope you don't end up like myself after leaving WoW, unable to find the another great MMO to latch onto.
EQ2 now levels pretty quickly not as fast as WoW but not as bad as it used to be.As faw as SWG you missed the glory days of that game i would steer clear of that flaming wreckage.I personally didnt like LOTRO but you might.I did really like WoW it was the only thing next to SWG i ever played for any ammount of time. But like i said EQ2 is Rite up there with the best of them IMO.I would really give it a shot, you might be sorry if you dont.It could atleast hold you over till WAR and AoC,thats what im doing.

Download the free trial for Lord of the RIngs. It has a similar feel to WoW and content for lotr fans.
Warhammer is going to be THE next big game.
AoC might have some innovation, but often times when developers reach to far they create a "what it could have been" game.
For complexity and depth; EQ2 isn't a horrible choice . . . it's just a different feel from wow all together.
PoTBS is kinda neat, but like you I prefer the fantasy setting.
Tabula Rasa . . . just stay far away from this over rated sci-fi steaming pile.
SWG . . . I played for 1 1/2 year and was a really neat game, but SoE started playing to large of a role in what happened with the game and it became a totally different game. I've never gone back due to frustration, but at one time it was a really neat game.
In such a short description you described exactly why I've stopped playing WoW myself. My biggest reason is I love the end game content and thought they put behind the raids/instances, but there are far to many morons in every guild that ruin the experience by noobing it up. Take that frustration and mix it with the fact that you can't play the game without 15 mods created by players to help minimalize the insane difficult dungeons blizzard has created. I swear end game in WoW has become a battle to see who has a bigger e-penis blizzard or uber guilds. 98% of guilds would never clear new end game without reading guides from the uber guilds & the 15 mods they are forced to use. For these reasons it amazes me that gamers call wow the kiddy game because if you EVER experienced end game content there is not a damn kiddy thing about it. I want to keep playing wow and enjoy it, but it's difficult to do so.
Honestly if you think WOW end game is hard then you will be in for a shock when then next titles come next year,WOW is far from a hard game to play or master and if the guilds you were in kept wipping then that was as much your fault as there`s,WOW`s end game is a pretty much a "follow the yellow brick road"as you could hope to see and that is the sole reason it is so popular to the new MMO players.

How's this then, WoW's endgame is trecherously boring for anyone without 50hours a day/ 9 days a week available to dedicate towards reaching the various instances.
For a semi-casual (like myself), the endgame is like hitting a brick wall that you crawl over at frustratingly slow pace compared to the laissez-faire gameplay that existed in 1-60/70.
You mustn't speak about the same WoW endgame I've seen, where you very much have to be a no-lifer to get something done. Unless you are talking about lol-arenas...

Play perfect world , While u wait for age of conan
Come play vanguard with us . If you do join saradon server and ill help you get started. My ingame names are Rumours and Listle. We'd love to see you there.
eq2 is the way to go
its a great game and so many people are joining lately
the max lvl is 80...i takes a little while but its good fun
It's not how long it takes to get to end level it's just the fact that the game pushes you to get to end level to do all the best content and join your friends.

I cant really argue with you there. It was extremely boring for me. Worse than the boredom is the dedication that you need to have in order to get DKP and get gear. It ended up being more like a job than a game. A dedication to being bored 4-5 hours a night 5 nights a week. I really dont know how I became bored enough or maybe it was obsessed enough to do this. Looking back at it now I just laugh at how stupid the whole situation was.Go play World War II Online - Battleground Europe for a while.
A month after PoTBS is out and things are getting better you can switch from WWIIO to PoTBS.
While playing PoTBS you can anticipate the release of Warhammer and play it forever once it launches.
WoW is about as easy as they come leveling wise so if your looking for easier you will prolly have to wait for WoW 2.0...oops i mean Warhammer
Raid Officer
Blades of Wrath
Vanguard
Warhammer is not like WoW only the graphics and races are. Stop comparing two different games. WoW is a PvE game, WAR is a PvP game.
There are few options within month:
- Buy Guild wars, it is cheap and free of monthly fees. I like it, but some dont, but to me it was worth its money
- Potbs is coming real soon, open beta is nearly ending. You can start playing that on 7?? of January if you pre-order
- Just try trials on different games, most have one.
- Eve online, definately different
- Fury, its free now isnt it? Dunno nothing about that
I wouldnt suggest any other lvl based fantasy game just after WoW, gameplay in most is too similar. Tabula Rasa is kinda ok, but my interest didnt last past beta.
Played: Quite a few Mmos
Playing: Something

lol at everyone that argues this, it's the PvP based version of WoW. This was the gap in the market for the big money maker MMO's.
