I hope both turn out successful for the sake of the genre.
I am almost certain that AoC will offer more content to keep me happy rather than a 6 month fix of fun. (Not that 6 months of fun is a bad thing, its just I prefer to think of long term)
In 2 1/2 weeks I can browse upon over 4 yrs of development myself with my own eyes
Age of ConanWILL turn out like every other MMO out there, it's so similar that during a video that was posted on MMORPG.com's feature thingies that two developers were bragging about how long a PvE raid would take in a demo.
Atleast it does had a new form of raid content with the guild city building.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
The closer we get to release the more I feel like WAR and AoC will bring very little additional "fun factor" to the table. There are other games releasing that may fair better but I have to think TCoS is the only one with a chance. The only reason there is because they are taking a risk in how they are shaping their world. Until more developers do that we are just going to see more of the same cliche games everyone complains about.
And while the "hardcore" PvP crowd is very vocal you have to remember there are plenty of unsatisfied PvE or PvE/PvP casual players that are just as unsatisfied. Most MMORPGs lack immersion, lack intelligent enemies, and of course lack meaningful PvP. To some extent, an MMORPG should feel like a living, breathing world. But I'd settle for a game that I didn't feel like I beat just because I maxed my level and there's nothing else left to do but raid...
