I'm a female gamer and I don't see what the big hoopla is all about. You play a game with existing IP lore which helps build the world around you and you build your character into the world. Lore is Lore..removing LORE restrictions completely makes it something other than Warhammer. If I want to play EQ2 or WoW where there is no gender specific Lore then I'll play those games.
Warhammer is about Warhammer. Granted there are some lore changes but they aren't drastic changes like oh...giving Orcs Females (i'd be like putting female dwarves in Lord of the Rings!) ! Which is SO far fetched and not in any part of Warhammer Universe ever..it'd just be blasphemous to Lore Fans. If Gender is that important to you in a game of all things then perhaps you should reevaluate yourself. I plan to play chaos and orcs and I want them as ugly and nasty and cruel as possible and putting a pair of breasts on them just makes it .... well weird!
I believe their biggest reasons for leaving out classes that involve females from the chaos is due to the GOD they chose to follow and the necessity to keep the game a Teen Rating and Not Mature.
I'm glad this game has Lore even if some of it is changed or ignored atleast they're still keeping fairly true to the Warhammer Universe which I think satisfies many Lore Fans to an extent.

Anyway I could care less about genders, I only care about how the class effects gameplay. I am a man and if my class is a female than so be it i'll have a female character.
I've never played and of the Warhammer games but i've seen just how many damn choices you have of classes.
Now,knowing mythic...they'll stick to the lore of the game but also give it twist here and there making it their own and also to accomadate the players.
You know this wont be another blizzard bullcrap we'll have only 6 classes and 6 races for three years and just add new material and stuff ,NO, Mythic will add more and more playable classes and when they run out...they'l lstart making them up.Give a few X-packs and Mythic will even it out.

I really doubt that Mythic can just make stuff up, well most likely they can. However only release it to the game if Game Workshop agrees with it. However on the female/male discussion. I personly do not see an problem is there would be female charaters to pick. Niether would I lay away if there would not.
The Warhammer IP is so deep and has so many units that EA Mythic is barely scratching the surface. If they want to continue to add careers to existing armies they will not have to resort to making them up. They could easily double the careers in each army and still have room for expansion.
However, I envision them adding another racial pairing eventually, instead of just focusing on new careers. In fact, new careers sort of "break" the tank, melee DPS, ranged DPS, healer setup they currently have in each army. While that is not a bad thing, per se, as it is not set in stone, it also does not add much if an army simply starts to have similar careers.
Well, I'm split on this. I think it would be nice to see female chosen, but what would be the point since both males and females in such a role will be wearing huge hulking armor, looking like a big daddy with a tank frame for legs (Bioware reference ftw!). I'm just glad the chosen armor looks *mean and vicious* rather than WoWish. And I love the darkelf witch too. ^_^
Well, like other people have said....Its not the end of the world. I'm just a little disapointed, not realy because there just isn't a female chosen...but more because we won't have the option and won't realy be able to see what they did with it.
Alot of people have said that it doesn't matter, once they put on the armor they are going to look the same anyway....but that is realy my entier point. I was realy currious how they would make a Chosen Chick....wether it be a nearly identical look and feel to the male chosen or even if it was a skinny looking girl covered in a string bikini of steel armor. I just wanted to see it...then make the choice for myself, not realy have the choice taken away from me
I'm still going to play a Chosen, even if they are masculine shaped walls of steel, they still look pretty hawt
I personally am torn between Chosen and Hammerer. But Chosen look so much fun

I tryed finding something out on the game or what not like a list of Careers and races just to see where mythic will most likely go with this game. I was just suggesting that Mythic not only made up most,MOST, of the classes in DAoC but also gave them their own feel. Minotaur ''Mauler''? What the hell is that. i dont remember seeing Mauler as a profession in any of the books i've read.
A page where they list some or all of the War Races and Careers would be nice so i can get more into the story
