Why do people like ArchLord so much?!

PopeOnDopePopeOnDope Member Posts: 29

I decided to try ArchLord today and because of good comments made about it. After downloading it i started playing and was unimpressed with what i saw, but i decided to keep playing, 5 mins later ArchLord closed for no reason. After that i had enough and unistalled ArchLord.

I have many problems with ArchLord:

  • Bad Graphic Detail
  • Serious bug problems
  • Bad character detail

These are some of the many problems that think is wrong with it.The reason why i posted this topic is to ask people "Despite all the bad things about ArchLord why do people say its great game?

I played it for about a month, It is actually pretty fun but I wouldn't consider it to be a great game.

I wouldn't say it's the best F2P...but's it's good. It could be great if only not so laggy (last time I checked - a mont ago - the "rubber band effect" was still there).

Regarding the graphics: IMO the game looks very good, the graphics are superios to most of the competitors' offers. Remember this was initially a P2P game, so the graphics were created in high detail - the maps are cool and varied, the mobs are very well designed; it does lack more variety (I got pretty fed up to see the same type of mob flashing just different colours), but other than that, it's ok, and it succedes in creating an appropriate atmosphere for each race - the human cities for example are very different from the orc towns and the maps are also adapted to that atmosphere.

It's worth playing if you're a fan of games centered around pvp.

Not too sure why you said the detail was bad...

You can PvP nearly everywhere and its actually kinda fun.

Grinding is terrible though...and teh economy fluctuates way too much.

Oh yea and serious lag issues...that rubber band is deadly

    6.5/10

I would say this game isn't terrible. I'd give it a 1/5 at the least for effort.

Gameplay is terrible because of lag. If the lag was fixed and performance issues improved along with a couple of fixed bugs this game would probably get better ratings. But apparently, the developers are just too lazy.

To me it is ok.  It has the classic grind, classic quest, classic classes, classic races, but it has an awesome clan battle for the throne of the archlord.  It is different then lots of classic mmos.

me and my friend started playing this together. at first it was great because it was free and what not. then after like a few weeks we got tired of it. towards the end the most fun thing we found to do was check stuff out in the auction house and make our weapons god like with the elemental stones. then we thought it might get better at higher levels... so i found a bot that worked pretty well. however, to my disappointment, it didnt get better.

its not a terrible game but certainly not a great one

If graphics is your biggest reason for playing a game, any game will bore you fast.

Many people play for 15 minutes and hear something about a "bug" that they never play long enough to even encounter.  There are some very nice spell graphics in the later levels.

I played it for a few months when it came out as a pay to play game and it was entertaining.  The end content hasn't developed yet, but unless you stick with it, you wouldn't know.

I would recommend something like Worlf of Warcraft that has lots of advertising and hype for the children.  That is a graphically pleasing magnet for the really young kids that find that sort of thing necesary.

Also, every game has downtime for upkeep.

In comparison to p2p mmos, it is average, but when matched up against most of the other free crap out there, it owns. I do not have the lag problems that people keep talking about, but I also have a very fast connection and lots of ram so idk.

yeah this game is ok, my biggest beef was no gender selection

i ended up playing as a transvestite orc in a bra and skirt for 30 lvls, was kinda funny but was really just lazy developers, too lazy to create both male and female eq sets

lots of bugs in the game, lots of grind, and tons of lag

eventually i just got bored with it, was entertaining for about 20 lvl though

oh and the best player item trading system i have ever seen in a f2p (best part of the game)

Those 'problems' are standard these days. To have high detailed landscapes you'd need 8X-16X AA, believe me... Bug problems, well it is an online game, it's pretty normal it has bugs. Character detail, I can't say anything about the skin textures or the hair meshes. But everything is quite limited, 3d renderers are able to create stunning material, only problem is you'd need a shitload of VRAM.

And I never saw anybody say it was a good game... It has a rating of 7.3, meaning it isn't all that good at all.
