I tried the live chat all he said is "your in the queue" this is the worst experience I have ever had with a customer service EVER whether it be games, bank account, cable tv anything I've ever called customer service on in my life has not been this frustrating or just a unmatched lack of genuine care for the customer.  SOE IS THE WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER SEEN.

You're welcome to come to NZ and try get help from Telecom, I'm sure it'll make you appreciate SOE's support ;)

Heh I tried Verizon for 3 weeks (because it was going to be cheaper than comcast and we'd had dns issues quite often).

I never had working server... and to make a long story short... the only reason it got solved was I went through the states attorney generals office.

In fact its not solved yet.. I agreed to pay $83 out of a total of $200+ they wanted (for the never working service).  So when the bill came.. it said they owed me $60.00... (aka -$60 due).  I'm afriad to even call them and try to fix that one.

Sorry that the OP is having issues.

I have many elder tags for professions I never even took up.. to be honest.  My BioEngineer has an elder tag for every combat profession AND politician...

That character mastered 3 things... EVER (medic, bio engineer and doctor).

I have another character that was a Master TKA/Smuggler.. and when the CU went live it was mashed down to a level 58... that was never fixed either.

Well, with the CU, they changed the requirements needed for some Elite professions.  If you didn't have those new requirements during Pre-cu the CU conversion took that Elite profession from you.

If you logged in during the CU then it usually wasn't much of an issue due to the way the respec system worked then (you got respec points that you could redeem for new skill boxed without needing to re-grind them).  If you never logged in during the CU and you next logged in after the NGE, those checks were still done in the conversion but without the option to "fix up" the requirements like you would have if you had logged in during the CU.

If you had logged in during the CU then the conversion to the NGE was done based on your level - your skill boxes and what you had were ignored.  Which is why it's odd that the OP has lost levels during the CU - NGE conversion.  If he is indeed correct and did login during the CU, the uniqueness of this bug is what's likely causing the hold up with the CSR's as they're probably not sure how to deal with it.

in a hurry but just an update the "tier 3" customer service rep has told me almost exaclty the same thing that the "tier 1" has said, with the exception of admitting basically that they keep faulty records prior to NGE and there is no way to be certin what professions you mastered and when.  I am currently talking to a few old guildies about getting screen shots with character name and level but really I don't plan to play the game anymore after this and I don't think even after giving them those screen shots they will change anything...

The game might be geting somewhat better but they are basically just adding back what made it a good game in the first place except dubbed down wow versions of it.  I would like to thank whoever replied to this I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't the only one who thought this is crazy, and maybe vets who are thinking about comming back and new players will have a look at how SOE treats its customers still.

And I take this entire situation as a direct attack on my integrity, which I take very seriously being a staff sergeant in the united states army integrity is a very important part of my job and life and to be so blatantly called a liar in face of overwhelming facts is ridiculous to me.

I tried out the game a few months ago and i have to agree, dont bother about coming back for a new try, its just not worth it. Not as bad as at the release of NGE but still dumb compared to the original.

I think that you're just unlucky.

I've had many experiences with SOE Customer Support and I can say that it's been nothing short of superb, I've even had them 'bend the rules' to sort some stuff out for me in the past.

    Case by case my friend.

Either that or the tone of your tickets is similar to the tone of your posts here in which case I'd give you a helping of copy pasta too.

I too have had good luck with Sony Custserv the majority of the time - I think it's roll of the dice + your attitude to them.  I've been a call center person in one capacity or another for 15 years, so I tend to know how to deal with CSRs.

Am I the only one that's noticed that Obraik has twice explained the likely issues, in great detail, and given very reasonable explanations for the scenario?

Nope, I noticed as well. Typical for Obraik to do

"If we don't attack them, they will attack us first. So we'd better retaliate before they have a chance to strike"

Well.. I got the first honest response out of a GM and it is what I expected all along is that there is no way that they can look back prior to NGE because the system reset itself to see when and where I mastered any professions and thus cannot roll-back a character to any of these points.  It was a much better answer than being acused of being a liar.  Althought I have still decided to uninstall the game and move on.  To all those still playing SWG good luck to you I won't be returning after this.

(also a note I was very polite in my first few posts to the CSR's, only after being called a complete liar did my posts turn more and more vulgar during the week I have been trying to get an answer on this issue.)

  • lorechaserlorechaser Member Posts: 124

    That seems logical.

But I'm wondering why they don't simply say "Well, we can't determine what you were at, because our systems don't go back that far.  We see that you're returning after a long absence, and you clearly have mastered professions in the past.  We're going to set your level to 80 because of that.  We're glad you came back, and hope you enjoy the game!"

Tier 1 and 2 shouldn't do that.  Tier 3 should certainly.  Unless there is a technological issue that prevents it, and I'd mention that to you.

14 month deployment left you a little behind on this issue.  everyone is pretty set on whether they will attempt to play or not.

Ah yes, the resident Star Wars Galaxies nutcase. or NGE's "target audience"

Sabic133, too bad you didn't stick around longer during the combat upgrade, it improved dramatically but unfortunately SOE shoved the CU over and threw in the NGE which still isn't even close to what the CU was in later Octobor 2005. Combat in the CU in Octobor was pretty damn fun with publish 24, being a Jedi was an absolute challenge against BH and squad leaders and even creature handlers.

Now 2.5 years later, I still don't see it as "complete" as the 6 months of CU was. FYI I deleted my characters, just so I don't log back on. lol

    <modedit>

As for SWG. It has the most bugged PVE of every large MMO atm. People laugh about Vanguard, but that game is not even half as broken as SWG. The combatbugs and endgame instanceproblems on Mustafar are ridiculous to have after so many years.

Hmmm, yes...I sense a disturbance in the force, this is from one who has be OWNED by the Legendary HorkaThane in a previous game universe.

First a little back information about myself:  I have been playing SWG since beta minus a 14 month deployment to Iraq.  I have had 3 level 80 characters over the past years I have been playing and several lower level characters spread over 3 accounts.  My last log in was late july 2005 so its been a little over 2 years since I've played (14 months of that was in Iraq).  So this brings me to why I will never play again and a warning to those who are thinking about comming back...
    DON'T DO IT!
This is my experience with trying SWG again..  A friend and I decided to resub to SWG to see basically the state of the game and if it was worth playing anymore because frankly when I left in 2005 it was complete garbage.  So with it being 2 years since I had logged I did a user name recovery.  I got my user name emailed to me and went threw the process to resub the account only to find that the user name they had sent was to my wifes sub account with the only character being a level 32 twi'lik female.  I thought to myself "ok people have had to make this mistake before I'll just send up a ticket"  I don't even think the response was a human just a generic email they send to everyone who sends up a refund request ' sorrry your SOL ' is basically what it said and stated nothing unique about my specific problem or the fact that I HADN'T LOGGED INTO THE GAME ONCE.
Which brings me to my next problem.  The prior trouble should of been a wake up call but no I decided to waste another 14 bucks getting the right account activated I was already patched up and ready to go hit "play" go to the character login screen hit my level 80 character and it loads up then BAM what do I see?  My level 80 character is now a level 65 character I thought "what the deuce?" I exit and proceed to send another ticket so I wait.. and I wait.. and finally I get another generic response saying they "reviewed the necessary logs" and "did not find any discrepancies with my account" So I calmly and nicely reply that he is mistake I know for a fact that my character was level 80.... the day goes by no reply....
I send up another ticket and the website keeps having errors I finally get it submitted saying that there is an error somewhere and that according to the skill conversion all my skills were combat xp and thus if I'm level 80 I should now still be a level 80 they reply saying that I'VE NEVER EVEN MASTERED A COMBAT PROFESSION that I was a master merchant!!!!!  I don't know the first thing about crafting.. so I reply WITH screen shots showing that I have the elder tabs for master TK/brawler/swordsman both in my tabs drop down box and my collections area only to again get no reply...
So I make ANOTHER ticket with the screen shots and a broke down explanation a child could understand of my situation and that I just wanted a yes or no if this was fixable or if I should just cancel my account and move on and learn never to trust SOE again my reply was "I'll send this up to the next tier" WTF IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN SMED HIMSELF IS GOING TO FIX MY PROBLEM!?!?!?!?
..... So basically long story short SOE still doesn't give a crap about the few remaining customers they have which makes me think that the Bioware star wars MMO is probably true and they are getting ready to get scrapped. BTW here are the screens I sent up...

I feel you buddy.  I did the same thing several times.  I even explained to them step by step actions on how to fix the problems I was having and they did absolutely nothing.  This game is total garbage, the company SOE is infamous for having terrible customer service that isn't limited to SWG but applies to other games they operate as well.

SWG is a dead dream for Star Wars fans.  SOE snatched it out of their air and murdered it at everyone's feet.  The only people who haven't realized the destruction that has been done to this game are people who are in shock.  Eventually they will wake from the daze and realize that SOE is nothing but a bunch of scam artists who only want your money and they care nothing about your entertainment, as long as the cash is flowing from your wallet they are happy and thats all that matters.
