Canceling Account

in Final Fantasy XI

Ok, ive run into this problem a few years ago. How do i cancel my account without deleting everything? Last time when i canceled my account, i somehow just deleted my character as well, so i couldnt go back to it. This time i just want to cancel the payment, but be able to go back to it when the time is right. Thanks

    When you are at the FFXI menu with the "Play" button, choose "Content ID". At the Content ID menu, select "Cancel ID". Payment will stop once all Content IDs are canceled. FFXI characters can be restored once Content IDs are reactivated. Unfortunately, characters can be lost after three months if kept deactivated; this stipulation should really be corrected!

    correction.

    not 3 months, its 12 months now. Most cases people did have their characters beyond 12 months.

    This was changed before TOAU release i think.

    Indeed, the time frame had been changed to 12 months. I did not know that! I kind of recall recent stories of characters not being retrievable after 3 but before 12 months!
