EQII questions???

MaelstromWARMaelstromWAR Member Posts: 99

OK so I have a few questions, I have been looking for a mmo for a long time that I really enjoy and Its been hard for me to find any, well here are my questions:

  1. How many people play, can you see people running around a lot, are cities packed ect...(I like having people playing a game but not too many)
  2. Is the world fun, can u discover new things and just have fun running around and discovering things.
  3. How is the pvp?
  4. How is the fighting system (compair it to another game like DAoC or WoW)
  5. I tried the trial play the fae and disliked it just for the reason that I was a fairy, is there another trial that isnt play the fae ?
  6. Do I have to buy all the expansions or are they just patches?
  7. How is the community?

I know these are a lot of questions, just answer how ever many you like, and thanks a bunch for helping me out.

"How many people play, can you see people running around a lot, are cities packed ect...(I like having people playing a game but not too many) "

EQ2 has mnay servers and they have plenty of traffic but too much in my opinion.  EQ2 seems to be attracting more players with each new expansion.

"Is the world fun, can u discover new things and just have fun running around and discovering things. "

Think thats a matter of personal taste, but it is big so there is much to explore.

    "How is the pvp? "

Weak, I haven't seen any but heard there is some.

"How is the fighting system (compair it to another game like DAoC or WoW)"

Played both of those and EQ's is as fun.

"I tried the trial play the fae and disliked it just for the reason that I was a fairy, is there another trial that isnt play the fae ?"

    Can't answer that one, sorry

"Do I have to buy all the expansions or are they just patches? "

You don't have to but you would miss some great additions to your character build, plus you can buy the game with all expansions included for the $39 dollar price.

    "How is the community?"

Once again subjective, find a good guild but overall people seem friendly.

In the Play the Fae trial all you had to do was make 1 fae and then create another character afterwards which could be any race

You will need to play on a PVP server if you want to actively see PVP

Servers are generally busy, but people don’t spend a lot of time in cities. There is limit on the number of characters the engine will draw, depending on your settings that can be 20 or lower so you don’t usually see big crowds. (You can set this number yourself in the advanced graphics settings.)

    Lots of places to explore/discover

PvP is *very* gank-centric good vs evil vs exiles. You do get rewarded for killing other players so ganking is the main PvP activity. There isn’t much in the way of world objectives, but people will try to block the other side from raid zones, etc. If you go out solo groups/twinks will eat you up.

Combat is pretty standard, but a little on the clicky side for melee classes because their abilities are all very fast.

The Fae trial only makes you choose a Fae for your first character

RoK comes with all the expansions and adventure packs

The community is pretty good, but like all games there are some idiots.
