I've been a long time eq2 player and now I'm looking for something new. 

Anybody here from EQ2 and enjoying LoTR Online?

LOTRO is a blast, seriously...

Now im not another one of those "Dude cuz I play it this game HAS to be good" kind of person...

I am currently not playing LOTRO, as im working on some other projects (Learning C# and C++ for game development) I dont wish to spend time doing anything else right now.

I havent played LOTRO for over 2 or 3 months, but I cant stop thinking about it. The game is VERY well made, its VERY polished and just overall FUN.

Though if you're a hardcore PvP fan, for a hardcore MMO player that wants 24/7 .. well HARDCORE material then LOTRO is not for you.

Questing is fun, Socializing is fun (LOTRO has one of THE best MMO communities i've ever seen), Dungeons are usually fun, Player owned houses etc... always some parties going on, and ofcourse PvMP (Player versus Monster Player) is a BLAST.

 

I myself have only played the EQ2 trial (Or was it a buddy key...) and think LOTRO is better compared to it, though I DO know many people in LOTRO that actively play and have been die hard EQ2 fans previously.

 

Give the trial a try, dont play it like its a trial but more play it as if you just bought the game and will be playing anyway...

Give it a shot, join a guild (I would recommend the Landroval server) you may just like the game.

It got pc game of the year at the  joystick awards too. 

I suppose tho it depends on what you look for in an mmo, as to whether you will enjoy it.
