Craftaholic here!

I am looking for an mmo that has crafting that is useful and very much needed. I dream of an mmo where people come to me with orders for me to fill. Whether it be for armor, weapons, potions, etc. I want to feel like I am needed. I am tired of raiding or mindlessly killing mobs to farm currency.

Is there any mmo, that isn't a ghost town, that has this feel? I am hoping WAR or AoC has meaningful and useful crafting, but until then I need something to hold me over.

hmm ya might wanna try out Ryzom if you havent already, its got a pretty decent crafting system without any need to really kill things (just gathering).

 

other than that most crafting systems in mmos are secondary systems so they suck horribly.

i'll be honest about MY opinion, I havent had alot of crafting experience in games but I personally love LOTRO's crafting system... Farming is pretty fun and profitable...

What I usually do is make berries and stuff and make my own food then. Then distribute it in parties and RP events etc

Try eve, everything in game MUST be crafted, so... if your a crafter your a huge part of the game.

SWG has a good crafting system where crafters are important and needed.  As an Armoursmith, I'm constantly getting orders for armour...today I recieved an order for around 20 layered suits which alone will keep me busy for a week or two   That's on top of my usual orders though...
