Is there any detail on if they're still going with the idea of having Trophies and such put on armor (Skulls on shoulders, etc.) and character changes? (Heard stuff about certain changes to player characters as they advance. Such as Dwarf beards grow longer or orcs grow larger.)
This is some of the things that got me interested in this game. I hope it's still in the game.
Groovy.

Trophies are definitely in. If you go to www.warherald.com and look at one of the Beta Updates (3? 4?) it shows a Witch Hunter and a trophy mock up.
As for inherent physical changes, that has not been mentioned much this past year, if at all. I am starting to think that will either be very limited or nonexistent - a shame, to be sure, but I can deal with it.
I mean, what can change about a Human or High Elf? It is tougher for them than it is for Dwarfs or Orcs, who lend themselves better to logical changes in appearance that indicate power.
So, yeah, that feature may not happen, but we will see.
Yeah, I don't know how humans would change...maybe look more aged or scarred.
But it's gonna be cool to have an orc with a bunch of skill and stuff mounted on his armor.
Thanks for the info.
Groovy.
Elves? Longer hair, scars..
I don't see how it's any different than any other race...
Taken from the Game Overview under KEY FEATURES:
«Player models that change to reflect the relative power of a character (i.e., Orcs grow in size and Dwarfs' beards get longer). Customizable armor and a visual guild system allow a player to make their character truly unique.»

It is because those are nonsensical changes.
Beards are a symbol of pride and strength for Dwarfs, so it getting longer makes sense. Orc dominance is predicated upon size, so getting bigger makes sense, too.
How, exactly, does longer hair make any sense for Humans or High Elves? It does not. It means nothing. Having longer hair in those societies is not a symbol of anything, except that you do not like to see barbers.
Scars, likewise, mean nothing. Scars are not a measure of one's place in society - they just show you are bad at dodging the mean end of a sword. Besides, people would not necessarily want to be scarred up, especially High Elves.
So, like I said, there are no good ideas for those races. I am not a Warhammer lore master, but nothing I have ever read suggests a logical physical change for them.
I would be fine with only Dwarfs and Orcs changing, myself - let me decorate my Knight with some trophies and I am happy.
High Elves
High Elves would be simple.
Longer blonder hair, maybe a little taller as well.
Empire
Empire would be more difficult.
Perhaps it could be split it up.
Knight of the Blazing Sun - Make the plumes on the helm universal, and increase in size / intricacy as you level.
Warrior Priest - More intricate battle-skirt patterns and possibly an increase in the size of the Hammer link around the neck as you increase in power. (If those don't work you could always make their bald heads shine more)
Witch Hunter - I have no idea on this one.
Bright Wizard - Easy, increase in flame intensity on your armor as your level. Also, if they emit light at night, make the radius larger.

This is a wrong assumption. At least in part for the High Elves. If you got a hold of earlier Army books, they go into detail about how the elves wear metal strands(usually Silver if I recall) through their hair in order to not have it cut off in battle, as it is a matter of honor and pride to have long hair, much like a Dwarfs beard is important to him.
Humans can go in almost any direction.... unlike the other races human mages and melee fighters train very differently, where as Dwarves are almost always tough as nails in any position, High Elves are all part of their local battle force, Orcs and Goblins are both completed dominated by the biggest/baddest Nobs in the group, ect.
As it has been said here (FileFront Stream) you will be able to receive stuff like Badges in BF2, killed 5000 dwarfs awards you "dwarf-hater-badge", which will distinguis you from others, some visible some not (char-profile or similar), i guess.
But like it's been said in the video, nothing is decided yet.
I would love to see everyone start as a skinny little twig and get bigger according to strength and so forth. That would be a pretty simple mechanic I would think just relate the size of the char with the ampount of str they have.
Now of course this all depends on the stat set up I have followed WH for a while now but little things like stat ajustments I dont look for seeing as they tend to be universal to all classes and races.
Also this would be in assuming you start at a lower number and get to mitigate the points to the stat you desire.
Hence the rogue like char will go for the agility and be skinnier then the massive Two handed mace whielding brute in your face with mad STR points. Seems pretty simple IMO. That alone would make for a more decisive battle even before you start the carnage.
As it is now in games like Wow (yes I'm sry i said it) you can have three orc's all diff professions standing next to each other and not have a clue what the diff is untill you can decipher what armor they are using.
Taurens are worse look at a druid and look at a warrior not to much difference other then maybee the weapon.

Human warriors I know are always gloating about war scars. The bigger the better. Just watch that one Lethal weapon in the scene were mel gibson is comparing all the wounds he survived from against that girl cop who was doing the same. Suffice to say, they started doing it at the end of the scene.
