Posted today at the official forums is a Follow-up Q&A with bonus questions from the 1st Dev chat here at MMORPG.com. The 2nd Dev Chat will be on the 1/13 @ 1pm EST.

 

<scaphism> how is healing handled. Is it a targeted heal or an area of effect?

A: There are multiple types of healing effects. Some well-known basics are direct healing, healing over time and taking life on hit. However, there are also AoE’s like poison gas clouds, which have a healing effect the first 5 seconds they’re inhaled, but turn into a deadly poison afterwards.

    wtf!!

    Is called skill based combat not dumbing down so you just stand in 1 place,The devs are trying too make it so you are always on edge in combat and keep on the move.

    Also you cant really comment on this heal as you dont know how much it heals for per second and then how much damage it does after the 5 seconds are up,It could be a very useful and group saving heal  and I am sure everyone will get used to seeing the graphic of his heal and know to move out of the way after a few seconds.

    Yeah, I mean no one really knows the applications the dev's had in mind when they made it.

    I picture like Arathi Basin in WoW, or Eye of the Storm. Lets say your team takes a node, you're battered and bruised, the rogue whips out some heal dust and everyone meds up and takes off, leaving a poison cloud there in case the other team comes along.

    That could be a potentially cool use for this type of heal.
