These screenshots are very nice. They show a lot of detail, especially in the water which I believe that when seen in motion with water sound effects will feel incredible.
These are more goodies that show that this game has come a long way since the early alpha footage and I believe Age of Conan will be a pleasure for the senses.
Can't wait to try it in March.

WOW just WOW to the pic on the bridge.
Sorry to the people who think these are photshopped - your wrong!
Good thing too because i dont think i would be able to play this properly without doing so.
is the march date a solid release date as of now?
what i mean is, the game is playable with a few graphics bugs.. or so buggy march is an unrealistic date to release?

Hiya,
Going from all the hands on reports that are floating around over the last 4 weeks, the consenses is that the only thing that needs sorting out now, are small graphical effects "Beard on male character, doesnt sit 'flush' with face" and other comments such as "the game is more fluid playing than when we last looked at it, all that needs to be done really are balancing issues"
Also a dev did say large scale testing of PvP will happen in January, this is something thats been ongoing for many months now (stress tests) from info released since the summer.
If permitted by Funcom, ill post a gameplay video when I get back home from my trip out there
meh character models look plastic to me and everything looks very bland and graphics are dated.

Are you sure you clicked on the screenshots and not on one of the many f2p game ads? Or are you a visitor from the year 2039?
But seriously, these are some great shots. I've gone from hating this game and everything it stands for, to being as anxious as an eight-year old on Christmas Eve throughout this game's evolution.
Currently Playing: Nothing...I'm developing. Looking Forward To:

Ok, I am the first to allow people to express their views, no matter if they are good or bad. An opinion is always allowed, and not only as on this site, when its a positive one.
But this, your little post here, some of the most uneducated uninformed troll attempt I have seen in a long time. Skin does not have a plastic tone, not even close to games like VG or EQ II, for once its actually in a matte shade it is blatantly clear when you look at the pictures. Then bland?! bland?! Maybe take of those grey glasses you wear, if you can find 10 more people on this earth that say bland about clear colors, sharp contrasts and the full spectrum of natural shades... Noope, pure trolling. Bland compared to WoW sure but heck, I am sure if earth was a game, you would call Grand canyon "bland".
Then we come to "dated graphics".... In an MMO. "dated". I can see that you have read posts on other MMO sites, that you probably heave read 1000 of forum posts about MMOs, because you use the right words.... You just seem to have never played a game in your life, because you clearly dont know what the words mean.
Now what you COULD say if you had any kind of brain capacity or actual knowledge about 3D modelling, art or... well, if you had eyes... you COULD say that you dislike the artistic impression used in AoC. That the models are too rough, too rugged and the artist follow the images of the AoC PnP Roleplaying game too closelly. You COULD say that if you wanted to blast this game with an opinion. But then, then you would be forced to know what you talk about. (For the AoC fans. "I" don't think its too rugged or anyhting, I like the style they have chosen. This is just an example of an opinion, not trolling)
Pure troll. If I was a follower of AoC I would get quite upset. Now I just find you pathetic. First play a few more games than Super Mario and WoW, then raise your hand before you talk
"This is not a game to be tossed aside lightly. It should be thrown with great force"
re: the pic on the rope bridge - yeah, pretty. But is it really a rope bridge...
My question... as a Strategic Move can I cut the ropes on the bridge to cause it to tilt and throw the mobs (and possibly me if my Dex / Agi isn't high enough) into the river below?
If YES then the designers have thought outside the box of roleplaying possibilities and created something Unique and Interesting and Fun.
If NO then *yawn* you might as well be standing on the ground in front of a blank background.
I keep yapping about AoC because it's the only game besides WAR that seems to have any potential for creativity, and most of what Funcom is pushing to the media lately just makes it seem like Mortal Kombat with fancy backgrounds.
I dont think you could cut the ropes, atleast not in non pvp zone. Just think about it it would lead to exploits, like puling some super hard mob and cuting the rope etc, now pvp and cuting the brige... now thats another story, i would`t mind to see something like that in pvp sige zones :P

ppl will complain about and put down anything they can. didn't u hear? -every1 can do everything better than every1 else all the time no matter where they r in the world. i like the screenshots and think they look awesome...although i actually hate how the models SEEM to run, and just basically move in all the vids i've seen so far..=/ get an actual actor/athlete rather than some programer nerd to dress up in motion-capture suits...u see that motion-capture dude giving a tour of the mo-cap lab at funcom in one of the AoC vids? my god what a weirdo.
IMHO, art direction in AoC looks best in the lush scenery and very convincing/true to the world architecture.
Models? Well, I guess we need to see them in motion AND in better resolution than blurry thingies we can download. Static screenshots can be very deceiving, models can be in funny awkward poses, looking even plastic.
Personally, I was most impressed by the long siege video which was shown on German video show (forgot the name of it ). I saw some great animations, models and texturing...

Agree with the plastic looking models, they don't fit in to the game. I guess barbie dolls were the chief inspiration to AoC models.
Bollocks!

Agree also and I hope it won't be like this. They really need to polish it! Even guildwars models look better
