What about a classic horror MMO?

I haven't a clue if this would work out in regards to enough content or not, but here goes.

What about an MMO based around classic horror movies?

Dracula - Vampire Class: Shapeshifting and strength would probably form like a druid class maybe



Werewolf - Werewolf Class: Without a doubt the tanks of the bunch

Dr Frankenstein - Mad Scientist Class: Could be mob control class like a necro

There's more to go off as well, like The Mummy and The Creature from the Black Lagoon. You could even expand on it to include 80s horror like a nightmare creature (Freddy), posession (Chucky) or your typical super freak (Michael Meyers and Jason).

On the other end of the spectrum would be your slayers and hunters protecting the world from these guys.

Like I said, no idea on story. Just another random thought.

I would prefer that they keep 80's stuff (freddy, jason, chucky) out.  I think it might be worthwhile for a retro feel to have the setting at around the turn of the century and have a kind of steampunk feel to it.  one thing to keep in mind though is the general goals of these monsters (what are they seeking some power source?) and who their enemies are going to be (humans or some worse form of monster?  Both?)

How about a call of cthulhu mmo were you play a recruited demon hunter thats sent back/forward in time on various history changing events which would be a nice addition to have a chance to have various armours and weaponry at your disposal bought/found/crafted in your current time frame and of course the use of various occult talents and trinkets.

There is something on cryptics in developement page that looks interesting, several concept pics that seem to show a few characters from Hunter: the reckoning  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunter:_The_Reckoning maybe cryptic are moving into the console area of gaming or this is an  IP they've gained and are working on an mmo version of the lisence , anyway heres the link to the concept stuff www.crypticstudios.com/index.php

That's the world that the guy posted a link to in the first reply. The World of Darkness series or whatever.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.
