This is unheard of!

So, we have a plethera of videos, beautiful artwork, and fantastic concepts. I often wonder how the frequently forgotten game component progresses. I'm anxious to hear what you all think of the musical aspect of Warhammer Online - Age Of Reckoning.

The man behind the magic is the Lead Sound Artist Brad Derrick and despite fast moving work surroundings he seems to have some nice music brewed up.

What do you all think about the musical aspect of Warhammer Online? Do you like it? Do you hate it? Or should the only sound be an orc WAAAAAGH!?

    The samples of WAR music we've heard so far ROCK.  I can't wait to see how they enhance the gameplay.

    I just hope he stops composing music in his car, WAR can't afford for him to get into an accident :)

    Since I almost always turn the music in these games off immediately I've never really thought about it.  The couple scores I've heard seem fitting to the game though - I'll just not likely hear them for more than a few minutes.  I prefer to play my own music to listening to the ever repeating scores they create for these games.

    I really like the idea of orchestral music for the soundtrack.

    It has a big, full sound and I think will fit the Warhammer IP very well.

    The music I really want to hear:

    ~ Empire Human music -- this probably will be noble and inspiring

    ~ High Elf -- this probably will be harp-flute-vocal-Celtic, which is lovely ... Anya comes to mind

    ~ Dark Elf -- this will probably be sinister but melodic ... seductive

    ~ Chaos Human -- the dark counterpart of Empire -- dominating and inspiring

    ~~~
    Yeah, thinking more and more the Collector's Edition might be the way to go.  I'll love the CD soundtrack.
    That is the single most epic way to make music ever. While driving a car? amazing.
    i spose it'll do the trick.... i mean it's not gonna be the new Star Wars or LOTR in terms of music.
    Not trying to be a ass or anything but, did you all subscribe to the Mythic site?
    This was in the newsletter about 2 months back I think it was could have been three (I forgot).
    I would have to say though I'm really glad that they actually shared this with us.
    LOL!
    Thanks, Fonz, I appreciate your words, but check out this post by Sidoxs just a while back.
    Apparently he makes a career outta the exact same "smartass" comments:
    I think they have done it right I have applied for beta and hope to get in.  Open Betas don't ruin games, games ruin games full stop. If tabula was half decent it wouldn't be struggling now.
    I added the color, but you can see he 1) quotes a post then adds 2)  nothing.
    Unfortunately, he perceives "smartass" as emphasizing "smart" when it really emphasizes "ass."
    That music was awesome. Somehow it feels really Epic. Closing my eyes and listen really made me see the dwarfs and their constant battle for survival against all manner of vile foes.
    Talk about living on the edge with the car and music thing. I didnt know it was so dangerous to be a composer. Respect.
    i have to give props to the war devs, using actual orchstra to do the music adds a new lvl of sound to a mmo, i might actually leave the music on this game to enjoy it in its entire playablilty....
    I always turn off the in-game music and listen to my own music, which is rock. So for me the music in the game isn't very important at all. I've played (and still do from time to time) Guild Wars and even though all state that the music is awesome there I turn it off anyway.
    it's usually enjoyable the first few times you hear it, but I'll agree I do put my music on most of the times. It's fun to listen to big musical scores, but only every now and then, couldn't handle it everyday :P.
