Free Trial Question!

    I've recently been thinking about starting up DAoC again, but didn't really want to play alone, so I asked my brother if he wanted to give it a go. He's never played a MMORPG, and plays mostly console games, so I decided to see if he likes it first instead of wasting money. I've noticed they have a free 14 day trial on the website. I also have a free 14 day trial with SI included from my old catacombs box. So now my question, what expansions does the free trial on the website come with? Vanilla? SI? Catacombs? Or if either don't come packaged with Catacombs are they downloadable (they've become free I believe.) or is that for subscribers only?

Best thing to do is go to the mythic website and download all the free componants to daoc. There are now a LOT of free expansions (SI, ToA, Catacombs, frontiers, housing, etc). Once installed and your 14 day account is up you are in the game. its not a dumbed down version either. Leveling is very fast and Ive seen people get to lev 50 in the 2 week trial period. Classic servers are full of people (like you) who have come back to daoc. Lower level zones have players in them, and the advise channel is being used a lot for questions etc.

Definitly worth the free 2 week to just have fun. I know some people who are just making 2 week free trials over and over. I wouldnt used the 2 week trial that came in your old box, probably best to download from the site as the updates likely would be lesser

Quit sending all these new guys to the lame azz classic servers LOL.

Your killing our pop on the regular servers where they are just as easy to attain everything now as the classic servers. Plus the classic servers cut out half the games intended content.

Let at least some of them come feel the full fury of the artifacts and master levels. jeeeesh.!

I talk up Classic cause thats where I landed. Honestly I did not mind MLs and artifacts that much, although a lot has changed since I last worked with them. From the changes I found on Classic servers Im sure they did just as much tuning on the normal servers.

The way the leveling is these days, I seee no reason any player couldnt give them both a try
