FFXI and EQOA are both PS2 MMOs, ffxi is still quite big, though its starting to show its age. EQOA is mostly dead, its much older, but was defnitly a fantastic game. there is the agency, but thats more of a shooter then a true MMO. there is a new project being worked on for PS3/x360/pc by square-enix, thought its an uncomfirmed name and very little has been said, its been in the works sience 05.
consloe MMOs are hard to come by, and its just now that they really have the ablity to do them (tech wise) by all the new gen systems (wi not included) that have big harddrives and internet built in. once someone (probly SE, already know for FFXIs console sucsess) put out there new title and does it well, more ppl will catch on and do the same.

I think the next MMO that pulls in WoW-like numbers is likely to be one that runs on consoles (as well as PCs), simply because there's many, many, many more console gamers than there are PC gamers. I doubt it'll happen this generation but maybe in the next, as console controls become more MMO-friendly and they have the hard drive space for a lot of downloaded content. Also integrated voice chat negates the need for a keyboard, an innovative control scheme could take it the rest of the way to making a full featured MMO work on a controller.
