I agree with that.
What bothers me the most is that most people will never know it, because they are sheeps and go try the games that has the more subscribtion, or where their friends are. (Which is the same)
If tommorow, each and every single game would bear the tag of "Blizzard" on their box, (thus throwing out any fake hype out of the way, and putting the raw products alone to the test) Daoc would be the MMO with the most subscription by far.
What deserves to be done, deserves to be "well" done...
In my opinion there really are only 2 choices for players who like PvP. Guild Wars and Daoc. DAOC is more of a MMORPG than guild wars, but both have thier strengths.
If its a fight your looking for, this is the game for it.
Torrential
Torrential: DAOC (Pendragon)
Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
I will agree, Tho I tend to worry about WaR being superior to DAoC, as from everything I have read it will be the superior of the 2 mythic pvp power houses.
I will play both, but see myself putting more time into WaR than DAoC. Unless I do not find it to be on DAoC's level of intense action. Then back to DAoC for me.
Mythic is the king of pvp/rvr combat hands down.
WAR is going to be nothing like daoc.. its going to be a copy of warcraft with keeps....... daoc will never die
HOGG4LIFE
Yes, DAOC is probably still the best game out there. And that's sad, real sad.
I would agree that it's worth playing, except I hear that most of the low- and mid-level adventure areas are ghost towns. This would make it a terrible game for a new player, but ok if you are returning.
(Correct me if I'm wrong.)
I'm still hoping that warhammer will be very much like DAoC. They're lessening the importance of scenarios...and hopefully the world pvp will be good. I really dont care for instanced combat...huge fan of world pvp...so im hoping mythic doesnt disappoint me (scenario-free server anyone? )
I played DAoC for a long time and I thought (and still do) it was a much better game than WoW. I cant wait for warhammer to come out so i can quit WoW and play a real pvp game.
I guess looking back it would have been better to stay in DAoC...but i was just SO disappointed with: the style change patch, ToA expansion, and even the NF expansion. Although i will say that hte ToA expansion was probably the main change that drove me out of the DAoC game i had been playin for 2.5 years.
It's too bad though..pre-ToA DAoC was a blast...and WoW just fails on so many levels. Although until I get some $$ for a new computer or console, ill probably continue to play WoW until Warhammer comes out.
