I dont like to be told what to do and what not to do by others. Since im curious, i choose to buy this game with the pre-boarding offer and try it by myself. This game offer a very interesting gaming experience, a lot different of the other games such as wow, which is based on grinding and instance runing to gear up. This game is for mature people who like deep and intelligent games. Do not listen to the misguided advice of some trolls on this forum, go on, try the game and find out by youself. So far, i didnt ran into that much repetitive missions (some can be run over and over again), however its nothing like grinding the same instance over and over again for the chance to get a 0.3% chance loot...
So far, so good, i like it

Nobody likes to be told what to do and when someone tells us not to do it, well we do it.
I agree, its a very complexed game if your not used to this type of mmorpg and to compare it with any other standard hack and slash mmo out there is going to be relevant.
Now the OP is going to flamed, unfortunately there is some truth (on my experience) behind what they say though.
However, you can Grind the mission called 'Red Tide' over and over for $$ in the newbie zone. But I wouldnt even try to grind this mission unless you know what the hell you are doing. I started farming this mission at level 20 as a Privateer.
Anyways, we all know whats going to happen at this point...
Here we go..
Why?
Well, IIRC you came here looking for advice on this game, no-one can tell you what to do here. It's an internet forum. You read it if you like and form your own judgements on both the posters themselves and the advice they give and comments they make. No forcing possible unless you are incredibly weak willed.
Now, define me a troll? We all have opinions on this game, we like parts we hate parts, we like the developer or not, we like the publisher or not.
People come to this forum to read those opinions and maybe express their own too?
Some people come here to see if the game is worth trying.
Sure, we could all just download it and try it ourselves, but that takes time - so for some people it is more efficient to read a review from someone who seems to share their outlook and judge by that.
IIRC you like the economy section of the game but were not so keen on combat? OK - that's fine - I am glad you are enjoying the game - but to a PvPer your opinion might be quite wrong too.
Glad you are having fun though.
Nothing says irony like spelling ideot wrong.
Reading this under the post title "TRY IT BY YOURSELF, DONT LISTEN TO THE TROLLS"...
oh the irony.
Play if you like it, doesn't matter to me, but the game is nothing special. Read the player critiques, and decide if you want to throw down $50 + 15/mo for an average game.
Ship combat is good, for a while, and then the missions become very repetitive, very fast. Note, I did not say they were bad. Avatar combat is still unfinished and not that entertaining. The economy is all about guilds. Not in a guild, and you are shut out of large parts of the economic system. Not saying that is bad, but it is what it is. Instanced everything, I do not like, and isn't "bad" per se, just the lazy way of putting game mechanics together. It is much easier to make interactions "work", when you limit the variables way down. In a sea battle? Too bad, no guildie can join. For me, this is/was the least enjoyable aspect that permeates the game.
Walls in the ocean, silly. Port battles, interesting the first couple of times. Ground game/avatar combat, should not have been released until an expansion came out and was done right.
The game isn't terrible, it's just not good, either.
The game is very average, and I can wait to play one of the other major titles coming out soon, which will also be ~ $50 + $15/mo.
i bought it andwill continue paying for it until something better comes out.
It's not going to be a wow killer, but it's a fun game for ME. That's all that matters. Played the beta, enjoyed it, and am looking forward to port contention. Ship combat, port contention, pvp, and production/economy are all stellar to me, avatar combat is very rigid and not yet up to par with the rest of the game. Graphics are beautiful i think, instancing, a little too much. So after i weigh my personal experience, overall this game FOR ME is better than most out there atm. If avatar combat and some high end content gets added (other than port contention) i could see myself spending alot of time in this game (or until a new Star Wars comes out /pokes Bioware). It's a nice change of pace from the crap that is out there and the orcs/elves combos.
Just find a game/genre you enjoy and play the game.
If the non-supporters dislike the game, they will continue to post negatively.
If the supporters like the game, they will continue to post positively.
It buffudles me as to why so many people continue to stay on these forums flaming down at the game with every given chance. Attempting to yeild potential players will not help you to cope with the dissapointment of not finding your desired experience in PoTBS.
Players have to decide for themselves whether they should listen to the masses of disappointees, or try and make their own decisions, because the day you let negative opinions on a public forum dictate your gaming priorities, is the day you need to stop playing completely.
/100% Agree.
This also means your "game" of choice has become the public forums...lol
I just wish I could vote. This game definitely deserves more than a "7"...definitely.
