Will 2 months be enough?

I wonder if 2 months will be enough time to get this game ready for release. I know the game looks great now but how will the game run is what i am really worried about. I mean i saw some of the vids on the game i must say looked pretty choppy to me. I wonder how it will run with about 1k to 2k ppl on one sever? Don't get me wrong i am also waiting for this game i just wonder if only a 2 month delay will be good enough i want them to take there time and make this right.

Not to be condescending, but I don't see anything constructive in the future of this post. Who is going to say yes? Theres no way to tell. Most people have NO IDEA what state the game is in, and those who do arent allowed to post about it; so theres no way to say if 2 months is enough.

Just gotta trust Funcom... just like we have to trust Mythic and every other MMO company to do their job.

The ultimate solution to every problem: more space marines.

No 2 months is not enough, but 15 weeks would probably do the trick!!

Indeed, they have 4 months now to finish chopping the dead wood features, get the beta back up to speed and polish what's left. Is that enough time? Perhaps not.

However, they might have enough time to polish the lower levels of the game (apparently, 1-20 is already pretty good) and get the 20-40ish stuff down pat and fun, and patch the later stuff in (LOTRO did this too). A few people who just HAVE to be first to 80 will be upset at the lack of content, but considering how fast those people consume content, AOC could be delayed for years just to add content for those people and they'd still grind through it in a month.

im not sure if it will be enough but its still much better choice to get that 2 months than release sooner... i cant even estimate, what is the stage of the game right now so hard to tell...

i must admit that i am disapointed because of the pushed back release date, im sure that i would enjoy the game sooner but thats the impatient kid part in me

If you ever worked in groups that do game mods or total conversions then you will know that 4 months is a hell of a lot of time where you can do many things *IF* the base structure is right and all you have to do is tweaking things into a general direction. You can add alot of new content (art, quests, UI, etc) into a game withing 4 months. But 4 months is nothing if you encounter a showstopper that forces you to redesign a core part of the game. Then the time will melt away like snow in summer. And since we do not know what exactly Funcom will do in those 4 months we will only see and know once the game is released, whenever that might be.

I like this thread, its not one of those whine threads.

And will two months be enough? It sounds weird that its impossible to launch at the 25th of Mars, but two months later its all ok.

Why not take 6 months? That way they can work and make it really ready, and if they feel thay are done early.......just announce they will released it *insert* date. And everyone is happy.

I dunno but I assume that Funcom will try to prevent AoC from coming out at around the same time as WAR at all costs. I think it would not be in the interest of  FC  that both games are being released within a few weeks between each other. And worst case would be if AoC is released well after WAR is on the market. What I see here on the forums is that people are waiting for either of the two games,  but I doubt that people will buy and play both of them.

So if you release 2 months ahead of WAR you have the chance to "tie" a certain amount of players to your game so they will not defect to the other one because after two months you prolly already joined a guild, made good progress with your levels, etc.

I agree. Seems a lot of people are getting more constructive - on both sides of the fence. This delay might've been healthy for the community as well.

We shouldn't forget that thebeta-testers currently is using a several months old build as well. You can plus that onto the extra two months. They will be getting the newest build soon according to previewers and Funcom. Maybe Avery can shed some light on this?
