all they needed to do to make it more noob friendly was to make the starter skills from each archetype alot better.

There was a point in time where the game ran smoother than it ever did somewhere in 19XXXX during beta, but then the "content patch" did something drastic that lagged the game in all aspects. Slowly but surely, performance became better. There was not much else that could be done (within a short amount of time) to improve the game performance-wise, and still we did not see sorely needed improvements in other aspects of the game (ie. game  balance, map improvements) despite the community's calls for it (at one point, we were even putting together bi-weekly vent meetings discussing game balance to SEND to the devs).

When they finally rolled around to trying to balance the gameplay, all they did was make the game THEY (Adam and Cam) wanted to play. How do you expect a game to be successful when the only person that wants to play it is you? They hardly took any of our advice seriously (which we thought at first they were, but found out soon it was all falling on deaf ears), and the advice  that they did take, they took those WAY OVERBOARD. Adding a billion HP to everyone when +500 base HP as well as improving armor bonuses would've been fine (anyone who ever played against SQL and faced Rathorse's Destroyer would know potential burst damage was over the top), increasing the GCD to such an extent that even a slug could play the game,  and  not only leaving in  armor procs but also VASTLY IMPROVING THE EFFECTIVENESS of armor procs absolutely killed any claim of "skill" this game said it had. This game found a "niche" (probably more like a "crevice") community alright, probably not the one they initially set out to capture. I can't imagine they're making much money at all right now.

It was okay to mess up in beta, and we even stood around and took all of the blows that the initial release threw at us. We stood by steadfastly and all we got was a slap in the face. No new player (I guess "chosen") could possibly understand what we went through. Some of us really pushed for the game in so many ways, we put in a half of a year (some even way more) trying to get this game to be a success. It really sucks to see something so potentially great just bomb like that, especially with all that time and money both the devs and the player base invested in it.

I can understand where you are coming from... something you worked so hard at to fulfill a vision only to be ignored and take a different course. Its disappointing. You're absolutely right, I don't think the current generation would understand where the beta, and post-beta people have come from, and I'm sorry for that.

Unfortunately and ultimately, we are only players in a game and have no say what happens

behind closed doors. We only know, and suggest from what we see now, and can only try to hope for a good future from the past.

    Very well put......

I'm not exactly new, i had the game since release date.  Its  just that i have to spend alot of time in bloodbath training because thats usually the only warzone active during the hours that i play fury.  if i find a 4v4 i'm always down to join, but premades drain the fun out of that quickly.  And if there are enough players for bloodbath warmaster then i'm in.

I quit a week after release, I bought it a day after the release and really enjoyed it till people started spam healing and just like Guild Wars this ruined the PvP completely.

Making the game free pissed me off even more, I uninstalled it and threw the game in the garbage

I played tonight FURY, havent played it for almost 2 months, i should mention was a game i loved, pure PvP, nasty and raw PvP.

I gave up on fury because the lack of population, however, tonight, i was able to play some 4vs4 rounds (peak time EST time ) and waitting queue was less than a minute, amazing, even on its eve, queue for 4vs4 used to be a royal pain in the arse, i would say around 3/5 minutes average,or endless queue at its worst,  a hard issue to avoid.

Maybe was just luck, but, was nice to see FURY is still gaining playerbase, not as many wished, but, still going on.

Tonight it was as nasty PvP as i do remenber, and i trully liked ones again, if we forget what the game meant to be, and we stick about what the game manage to deliver right now, i think we could agree FURY still stands alone as a unique PvP game.

Auran and its crew, made a fatal mistake, made us belive they were actually paying attention to beta testers ( i was there so i can confirm it ) and eventually,. we all understood, it was the same song all over again about dev`s lisen players community, such fatal mistake ( amough others ) turned the "vets" against them, as seen , in many other games, and eventually loath and hate posts, made its way into the public.

Regardless what the game  meant to be, regardless what the updates made to the mechanics behind the game, regardless what the "vets" `ve seen and  expected, FURY, deserves to be played, and deserves to be recognized as an amazing PvP game that could deliver you a shot of adrenaline as not many others can achive without investing a lot of time grinding at PvE.

FURY does not deserve pass away without been recogniced for the PvP crew, and after my experience tonight, lack of playerbase, as we faced a few months ago, is not longer a issue, and still, as PvP game requires more skill than 99% of the games out there, so forget about "procs" and get into the game.

The thing I'm most disappointed about was how they simply, like you said, DID NOT LISTEN. I mean AT ALL. They pretended to care but did nothing of it.  What this lead to was a gash at the core of the game that led to such a low population, and they had to bandage it up by making the game free because they let it bleed so long while trying really dumb solutions that only they had influence on (even when a lot of the community tried to give long-term solutions in the forums). The game will never be the E-sports hit it could have and should have been.

ZOOoo.. i could NOT have put it better myself. Like Zooo said, Fury is UNMATCHED in PvP. No other new game (im not talking about oldschool stuff thats become wayyyyy obselete from a visual stand-point) comes CLOSE. WoW SUCKS B*LLS, bloody grind-fest and all the others are pretty sub-par.

Play the game, dont ruin it for people who want to start up by crying and leaving and encouraging more people to leave... instead have some FAITH, stick with it, encourage player-base to grow, encourage people to purchase Hero (or immortal if they so do choose) and help get this game off the ground.

Auran have obviously had their asses bitten this time 'round and human nature dictates that we learn from our mistakes. Making it VERY probable that if this game does lift off again the dev's WILL listen to you.

Id also like to add that Systi, the community liason manager is doing a fantastic job, keeping us all updated on a few of the forum threads and giving players like myself more hope that the game will continue. He has been reading all of your griefs and gripes and im certain understands the importance of listening to the 'vets' and also others. So why dont you all stop acting like immature brats, return to the game (because its ALOT of fun), stop analysing it to the point of self-destruction and drop the eye-rolling attitude. Your no more important than the rest of us (though we do appreciate your input).

We do need you back in the game to increase player base, improve over-all skill, lend newbies a hand and help Fury be the game it should be!

Cam and Adam decided to turn Fury into WoW arena, and that's how it plays. Difference is, WoW's actually doing what Tony claimed he wanted to do with the Challenge system (standardizing gear, etc.). I know that my opinion is worthless to Auran, but all the same I was a big supporter of the game for a long time. Now it's just boring. The skill-base is currently low as hell, the queue times are hit and miss, they never did implement 2v2 elim, and the competition is boring and redundant. The only unique component of the game is a charge system, and to be honest it's not terribly different from rage/energy systems in other games. Otherwise it plays like a carbon-copy sped up version of every other game with a PvP component.

So no thanks. I still think the game can be fixed, and maybe when Tony follows through with the promises he made concerning 2v2 and a Fury Challenge, I'll check it out again.

I find it ironic that the current Fans of FURY seem to think that its actually going to go somewhere ..... i like many others once had hope and maybe it still does  if someone else picked up its IP and reinvented it then yea itd have hope.... ive looked, searched and have not found one positive feedback from the Team that s suppose to be in charge of this game or anything to look forward to in the future . This is why we so called VETS post what we do.

For one moment step outside ur box and realize that u cant flame ppl cos like u we bought the game  [and probably for more ] ... in hind sight we played it ... were involved in community affairs or feedback .... and were looking forward ourselves to a new innovative game ... yes we all know ... HELL The whole Gaming community knows that FURY FAILED massively but at  the same time FURY still had a chance ... i cant say the same now ... when u personally give no official feedback for over almost 90 days theres got to be a problem.

ill finish this by saying if im not mistakin CHERISHED = Republica ... if this is correct than any who actually argue with cherished is somewhat naive at the facts first and formost .... i remember from the official forums that Republica was very involved and had alot of crucial feedback as well as insight with constructive thinking. Infact there was a thread on here where someone stated we should go back to the board with the devs ... in my reply i mentioned that some of the TRU FURIONS that have been faithful should help as well as ppl like statikk and republica ....bc of their constructive thoughts as well as open mindedness ...

anyhow thanx for reposting some of the old official forum thread info's as of recent and glad to see u back in one way or another especially when it comes to making a good debate

    Yeah I am still around

This is Jackalope for those who don't know

Anyways not touching the new vs old discussion, especially since my reasons for not playing the game are seperate from what you talk about and I think I made my opinion on the way the development was handled quite clear and I also advise any of the new players to actually talk to the Devs of the game before you defend them zealously.

Disclaimer: Do not quote me in this thread, if you have any questions regarding what I said and the validity or reasoning behind the things I say then PM me, same goes for questions regarding my credibility or knowledge of Fury. This post is mostly to let people know I am still around so please treat it as such.

I agree that the clan bug should be on top of the list of things they have to fix. It comes back from time to time, But doesnt stay long. At least the friend notification works...

There are a total of 500 players max, less on weekdays, that even bother playing anymore (and its not because other players cant handle losing, get some facts before you come here and spout off complete fabrications).

Look at the queue times and amount of games going on for any match type, the math speaks for itself.

Its not popular because it had its chance at success and fuckin blew it, you can keep going around here spewing your right-wing propoganda bullshit, but nobody is buying it - your a fanboi trying to breathe life into a dead game, a game that was dead before it ever had a chance to succeed.

I think its hilarious how anyone that played the game back when it actually required skill gets told they don't matter anymore by fanboi's such as above, but upon logging into game its drastically apparent that the old players were what made the game what it was - not this "new generation" as you so boldly call yourself, the only thing you guys have ushered in is an era of skilless noobs with big mouthes, because nobody seems to really give a shit about you new noobs ingame, but the minute an old vet comes online trade goes fucking wild. 2+2=4.

Your last line says it all, at least the friend notification works, at least........what a joke.

As all our members stopped playing Fury between AotC and Christmas, we tried to play again in February.

We also made one match against one of the new german guilds and we defeated them.  But  anyhow, no one wanted to play Fury again after this evening.

Game is not the game anymore we loved to play. Its so slow and stupid with all the hundreds of different procs you get when hitting, or get hit by an enemy.

So my new hope is Spellborn, if its getting released within this year!

Sorry I'm late for responding to this-- yes, Cherished does = Republica. And if you remember my posts, you know that I prefer to encourage debate and constructive discussion. I'm not going to give anyone a hard time for continuing to support this game. I never have and I never will. I will, however, take offense when people criticize those of us who made a legitimate effort to push this game forward only to see it dropped like a hot potato. Everyone is entitled to disagree, but aggressively ridiculing people because they're still attached enough to care and provide feedback doesn't help anyone, and it certainly doesn't encourage people to come back and try the game again. Normally I keep a cool head about it, but I definitely got reported for retaliation, so apparently my grip on my temper slipped a bit.

I don't have much time for gaming due to work, but feel free to check out my blog if you want to get in touch.

    I don't know about that.

I have been around since Closed Alpha (off and on), that was Feb of 2007, tho I did skip most of beta, I picked back up on playin Fury a couple days ago, still pretty fun, rather empty tho.

when the reference to OLD SCHOOL in FURY it means most players that played pre AotC patch from their beta until the initiation of that Business move they made and called it a new patch i should say ... i myself dont consider myself and old school cos i didnt play beta but more of what i would consider and ORIGINAL and theres alot of those ... the ones who pre bought FURY .... or shortly after release ...

    @ Cherish

glad to see u back no matter how long it takes any extra voices that can be heard til this game actually dies off are always needed and appreciated ... especially from ppl that actually have good debatable interests and constructive discussions ... sorry to hear u were reported for retaliation ... but u were entitled to ur opinion if they dont like it and cant take a joke .. oh well they ll get over it ... its a forum about a game no need to get so serious right lol ...

u know side not here ... this thread was started awhile ago to see which of the originals were still trolling or lurking around its interesting how long this thread has survived .... maybe just maybe the team over at FURY should take a look at this cos well it only makes sense we still care ...

For anyone who has been sticking around, many TPT members have come back together, we hang around on our old vent (PM me if you want the info), a lot of us are playing all sorts of games ranging from Savage 2 to WoW to DotA. I think we could always use new and old faces so chyeah, see you around.

@ Cherish - your blog is insane.

@ People who love to flame us even though all we're trying to do is shed light and promote constructive discussion -

As you can see a lot of us have not let go of the game, and for good reason, I hope people come to understand why we are not playing.
