the game feels dead

I got the game on the 9th and have enjoyed it a lot.  It's one of those games that can keep me interested for hours just in contemplating builds and strategies.  There are some major issues with this game, however.

1) ticket support - I've had a ticket on their tech support site for weeks.  No answer.  Are there really people still working on this game, or are they just saying that to try to pull in as much cash as possible before a complete shutdown?  From what others have said, they haven't dealt with ANYONES tech tickets in over a month since word of their bankruptcy and layoffs.  If they seriously are trying to keep this game doing, this is not good for their business.  I spent around 50 bucks on the game in total and planned on spending more, but with them not answering my tickets, there is just no way i'm going to give them any more of my money until we find out whats going on.

2) The rank system is ridiculous - I can be on a vortex team with all complete newbies vs a super vet pre-made stack, play my ass off and get 3 caps, lose, and my rank goes down.  Even though I played a hell of a game against impossible odds, my rank goes down, but some newbie on their team who was AFK the whole match gets rank up points, even though he didn't do anything.  This makes no sense.  Basing all ranks on winning or losing instead of performance is just an absurd concept.  These super-vets who make up the clans could just get their buddies to sit AFK in vortex while they rank them up.   I was reading the theories behind their rank system and one of their central concepts was "Nobodies rank should ever go down after winning".  Well, they fouled that up.  My rank goes down sometimes after 1v1s against chosen.  I don't even want to 1v1 anymore, because I could win 10 strait matches and my rank would go down!  Absurd.

3) the matchup system doesn't work - because of pre-made groups.  There are two ways to make this fair.  Either do away with the ability to bring pre-made groups into the public matches, making all selection random and based on rank, or remake the rank system so that you can still gain rank points if you lose so long as you perform well.  I've clawed my way up to Master without being in a clan by trying to avoid stacks and just quitting whenever it seems the clans have the entire server on lockdown mode with their premade groups.

Seriously, the entire key to ranking up in this game is to join a good clan and gang up on unorganized newbies.  It's not even skill,  it's just an unfair advantage.

But all of that rank and matchup stuff could easily be fixed, and the main problem remains the first that I put out there....are they even still working on this game?  Why aren't they answering their tech tickets?  Why are they (seemingly purposefully) leaving their forums down?

Rumor goes there isn't anybody left to answer e-mails... Hard to believe though.

Pre-mades are the reason I stopped playing to be honest...

You end up fighting the same 2-3 builds over and over again, and they STILL havent fixed the matchmaking yet...

It's a real shame because had the balancing issues and matchmaking been somewhat revamped I would have never quit.. I had crazy amounts of fun with this game, but once the IWIN builds started evolving, it made the rest of the skills pretty useless...

Don't get me wrong, I still had my fair share of wins and played a role in vortex in most matches, but I got bored of fighting (and chasing) charge healer #8674 and force of nature user # 56344

Hmm, I'm not disagreeing with you... but I guess one cant' really blame people for using the best build that works for them. Most premade teams in 4v4 and vortex are clan based and through trial and error they have learnt to use team work and get people to push up daisies lol. There are several popular builds out there, but I think thatst he point of the game, strive to find and get the IWIN build and also, on the other end to create an incarnation to directly opposed and put them down. I think thats the better challenge.

In the game you will  fight different players who have played longer and are either grand masters or paragon. Those guys know the game inside out, and usually have already died several thousand deaths....

That's hardcore PvP, always has been like that... Just try using a build that isn't listed on the Guild Wars Wiki (obvious I'm talking about GW now).  You won't even find a group, you might get kicked an ignorant fool's guild, because he thinks the usual builds are better. They aren't good until the top guilds used it.

Solution; Slaughter them with home-made, way better builds! Muahaha. Or in case of Guild Wars, manage to create contacts with the GM's, and advice to nerf some builds/skills.

...I logged after my "chill down" break from the AotC change(Trust me, losing all your gear and seeing amour procs scaled up was bad for my heart). I do miss Fury PvP, even if there was only a few elims on, it was still nights of fun. So I log in today, and well....I think there was 7 1vs1 going...That was it...

That makes Riot a sad panda...(I don't even know why I am still ranked Paragon)
