With the competition suffereing...
-AoC is still a complete bugfest (according to some german sites) and less stable then Vanguard during beta, and it got pushed back to June...
-Warhammers PvE is still dull, and the game will prolly be pushed back again ....
-Wrath of the litchking will not release before summer...
So i guess this is the time to advertise and catch the souls of all those bored MMo addicts... This game has the potentiall to reach out and catch players all around the world, espescially experienced MMO players, just because this game is still an MMO, but combat feels so much different then anything we all experienced uptill now
Please release it...let it come... (Can you hear good old Engelbert )

They need turn up the PR spin and prepare to release it soon. No matter what you think about the competition, those games/expansions have far greater chances of impacting the MMORPG industry. Releasing after them would insure this game's chances would not be good.
This game is so good..... people will not look back....more i can not say....
But if people never get to taste this Jewel.....they will never know what they missed, so yes , they need to release as promised in Q1 2008, everyone is wayting for another orriginall MMO.

WAR PvE is dull? How can you know this...? And I don't think they push it back again, when you see the news movies you see it's already polished and it works great.
On Chronicles of Spellborn:
It looks cool, but it's a sort of FPS, so people jump 24/7 and are going to circle strafe... Quite annoying? FPS sounds cool, but I don't know how they can make it work good, without getting jump/circle strafe/rush combat.
If you want to know why i think Warhammer PvE is dull, just read this article

I think if they mix the PvP and PvE as well as they seem to be doing, and if they stick to their guns then this game could be successful. They are doing a lot of unique things compared to other MMOs, they have the backing of a famous band(Within temptation, not my kind of music but I have heard of them so having that backing cant be bad), and to be honest I can not remeber a negative preview of this game or any beta leaks 2 months from a possible release that can only be a good thing.
They also have a great community, and the devs are active in the community as well which is always good. oh and the game has low system specs from the looks of it, but still manages to look good at the same time which will make it very accessible for a lot of people.
I hope they do not rush this game to try and compete with AOC and Wars release, I would rather wait to play a solid game rather than have a buggy, lag fest.
I have not looked forward to a mmo this much since my first MMO Planetside, and then to a lesser extent WoW back when they lead people to believe it was a PvP based game -_-
I agree with the poster that went on about the FPS like system though. If the game suffers from lag that could really kill this game, especially since the core of the game seems to be based around the combat system.
Which is why I hope they take their time and not rush the game, if more games like this that are very different from games like WoW become successful then that will only incourage more developers to take risks at trying something new.
Edit: Forget to mention if they can get someone like Jasper kidd (sp? recognize his music can never remeber peoples names or how to spell them though ;p ) then that again can only be a good thing.
The only thing I can predict is that this game will be very much fun to play. Not just because of the combat system, but also because of the love and detail that has gone into the quests and lore of the game. Not to mention the art work, the sound and the look and feel of it all.
If this game will not become a hit right away it will become one in the long run. No it will not be a WoW killer, but the game will be worth every cent you pay for it. And it will be different and unique in many many ways.
Ok, enough advertisement. I like this game, and I hope it will do good. Very good. The game deserves it.
it looks nice but i think it doesn't get as many ads, it might need to get a healthy start, in form of numbers.
so many "more popular" titles are on thier way this year, thus it might very well fall behind and be forgotten, which is a shame but those who liked it while playing it will find themselves having a possible strong community.

I get the feeling TCoS is one of the more stable MMOs we will see this year. The only setback is that it have no 20 year "world" history to fall back on as both WAR, AoC (70 years) and WoW have.
The only advantage AoC and War have is people allready know about the background stories and recognise them... This comes at a big disadvantage... Freedom in creating new things is much more restricted.

As long as they don't go overboard on the instancing, this game should do well.

On Chronicles of Spellborn:
They have a better combat system than you give them credit for,Ofc people if they like can jump but with your weapon in your hand you will not be able to jump very high at all and makes it quite pointless to do so and if you dont have your weapon in your hand you can jump a quite a bit higher but will take more damage,Also you take alot more damage if you are running away at the time you take damage. It looks cool, but it's a sort of FPS, so people jump 24/7 and are going to circle strafe... Quite annoying? FPS sounds cool, but I don't know how they can make it work good, without getting jump/circle strafe/rush combat.
I pretty sure you wont see the bunny hoping combat you find in games like counter strike etc,It will be alot more skill based. You may indeed see people strafing but dont forget alot of the damage will be spell based and unlike normal FPS you cant just strafe and fire you will need to stand still to cast your spells.
I think this game is a real breath of fresh air and will do well,Just how well is dependant on how many people want to jump off the gravy train and try something new,It wont be for everyone as it is a more skill based game than alot of MMO`s out there but if it does release this quarter then alot more people may try it out now that AoC is delayed again and the other 1s wont be around for a few months yet.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

This game looks good, i plan on try it out, but I dont see a bunch of peeps playing it. It will probably last for a looong time and will be a profitable product for sure, but with just 2 or 4 servers running.

There was a test day in Holland at 12th of Januari, and the Big Lord was there. He CANT say anything about it, but you might want to believe its word.
And about WAR, a game should take you from the first second you play. Not when you reach lvl xx. The game might be fun, but more as a WOW mod. Sorry that I said it, and YES I have read stuff about it.
You are forgetting that this game will also be released in Korea and Japan, next to Europe and NA, while in Europe there will be 3 localised versions of the game (English, French and German). But 2-4 servers per region? Perhaps, but I am counting on 10-20 servers per region at release. And that is a low estimate, except for the French and German localised versions.

Your estimates are optimistic. Maybe in Asia you'll see 10-20 servers, but here in NA you'll be lucky to support 5 unless this game finds a sponsor and starts a good advertising campaign.

No in depth crafting, from this and the other 2 games so far...i'll sit this year out
It's hard to make a prediction for this game. Unlike most games that are in the planning and are populare, this game doesn't have any background with previous games or some form of lore/background. So to get people interested in this game it really needs to deliver on the features it lists as it main selling points.
I know they can't afford to get out a buggy game as this will surely kill it in my opinion. But even if it's all it promises to be, it still remains to be seen it will become a succes, which for me means more the 400.000 subscriptions, as the FPS like combat will not be for everybody. How much people will be turned off by it remains to be seen.
Sorry, but it is not about how many potential players do not like the game, but about how many will buy the game (and like it). The potential market for mmo is so big at the moment that no game needs to satisfy everybodies wishes and taste to be successful.
Well i read it and he only played level 1-10 in a early stage of the beta... and he is comparing it to WoW? He is a bad reporter. He is giving his opinion and isn't telling anything about the PQ's and the Lairs. So look on the official website first, before you say things that a reporter said.

You're assuming that it will ever be released in NA. As far as I know they don't have a publisher for any NA release. The game is supposed to be out in a couple of months. It's going to be difficult for some to import a copy. If you really want to try out the game, I don't think they will be banning IPs. So you could import a copy or wait until they finally get a publisher squared away.
It is safe to assume that his game will be released in NA. Quality always prevails. When this will happen is another matter.

So I (or we in this case) should believe people who create the best possible game in their vision? I mean, how big is the chance that they put something negativ on their website. Also 1 friend of mine is in CB, who says exactly the same. I played it a few minutes, I DO think it is dull.
I heared other rumours of spellborn on the other hand. To be honest, I didnt found much negativ about it.

i think they need to be more public with it as well, they should start really getting involved with the over-all MMO community and really market their product, and promote it. I think it has alot of potential, and it's very unique so it would be great if it did well, but something this different definantly needs heavy promotion to catch on quickly.
