Of course I didn't claim SWG was dead, but I can see your frustration.
Yes SWG still has the same name and it still has players and technically the NGE was a patch, but for all intents and purposes it was retooled to be a new game designed to attract new players from a different type of game. In name alone....
MMOs currently playing: - About to play: Lord of the Rings Online Played: Anarchy Online (alltime favorite) and lots of f2p titles (honorable mentions: 9Dragons, Martial Heroes, Dekaron, Atlantica Online)
I played Earth and Beyond and it had a nice experience and I thought was decently well-done. The thing that ultimately alienated me from it was it being basically an Everquest in space where some of the actual space abilities stemmed from Everquest abilities and that was offputting. But yeah it was decent, and wrong that it was closed down.
AC2 I am more fond of. It was maybe one of the few mmos since Everquest that blew me away. It was something that perked my interest in mmos again. I am sure had they done some thigns differently, had a better launch, and didn't have silly fiascos with Microsoft it may have been the highest subscription mmo pre WoW.(incidentally I think WoW drew some inspiration from AC2, as some things were done very similar)
SWG , its a new game not the game people bought before NGE.
Other games I only played a short time that I hated to hear get cancelled were E&B and MCO. Both were nitch games and had a nice feel to them , definately games I would have gone back to in between other MMO's. But I guess marketting for in between mmo gamers doesnt make you money .
The only game I was in that got cancelled was Auto Assault but I was long gone by then.
To me, the saddest cancellations is EnB, it looked like a good game, and Seed, reading the forums made it seem like it could have been something special.
Plus, the semi cancellation of SWG, NGE was clearly a mistake
Back...Back Swg Vets.../cracks whip Back now....back to the SWG Veteran forums....../cracks whip again
Sorry for the recent outbursts by some of the vets.... The damn kiddies from the "official" SWG forums have been throwing rocks at the hornets nest again.

Ditto, once the NGE hit SWG was gone forever. It is still the biggest disappointment I've had in an MMO.

Hard line up. Dragon Empires gets my vote though, cause it was cancelled for technical reasons, not because it was crap.
Even now it's design would be what so many want in an MMO, something new and fresh.
Saga of Ryzom isn't canceled yet.
Gods And Heroes because I had a beta key for the game and it seemed nice.
hahahaha, good one
Marvel universe online is my latest.... ugh.
UOX.... had so much hope for that game.
