I realy dislike when you die and the camera pops instantly on top of you, unable to see where the projectiles spells etc came from

It will be changed when the developers decide that they don't want it that way any longer.

Maybe you should wait until the game is released to start complaining about things like this?

Well not breaking any nda though, its something I noticed in the rvr shaman goblin movie.

And isnt it beter to vocal your concern now so that its beter at launch instead to wait for it to be released and see nothing has been done?

Give it time, maybe they will change it if you don't like it.

    Nitpicking though imo.

Sorry I guess I should have clarified a bit here.

When you freeze and your game crashes due to some unfixed bug because the developers took focus away from fixing it to change camera perspectives at least you'll be able to see around you when you log back in to find you've died.

Also... yes you should wait until release.  This type of minor annoyance is not game breaking & could easily be changed after release.

Having said that I'm pretty sure that the developers have the camera tilt up and only show your character when you die so that people CAN'T spy on the other side.  This was actually a pretty big problem in DAOC & I'm sure that Mythic wants to squash any cheap tactics such as this in WAR.

    GG.

It's hardly a major issue tbh, we should be glad if developers reached a level of  quality that good if we're concern ourselves with such minor details.

I don't believe this is nitpicking at all.  I found it really annoying that the screen flashes and in most cases, you don't even get to see the final blow.  You just go from attacking someone, to face down.  I've watched a lot of videos like that.  In all other games I've ever played, I at east was given the opportunity to watch my characters death animation.  And there are many important things that you can learn by seeing the killing blow.

Out of all of the things they have taken from WoW and other games to improve with their own twist, why would they stop there and do something completely radical?  I hate it, and hope it changes.

I noticed that too and I didnt like it. They should let you swing your camera around after you die like you could in DAoC.

Yea perhaps, but this is just something not on my priorities of things to check out and hope they work on.

I don't see it being a huge deal if they want/need to change it either.

I am not a fan of the death "flash" either just to add.

I don't think it's that bad. It's a pvp game. You could use corpses as scouts if you leave the camera free. I would be cool if it was a bloody and blurry mess where you couldn't see anything. I don't mind either way though. Can get some cool screenshots as a corpse in the middle of a huge battle.

    That said.

When you die are you a ghost in war ? or is it like DaoC where you apear at a binding pillar.

In RvR, at least in scenarios, there is just a short spawn timer and you respawn to fight again from your team's starting location, since the goal is to keep the action going.

In PvE, I am not sure what method they will use, since I do not specifically recall seeing a PvE death yet. I would imagine there will be some sort of time penalty, probably requiring you to start at a "bind stone" or something. The nice thing is, if 2-year-old information is to be believed, is that there is no durability in WAR, so that means gear can never be damaged from death.

As for the death cam, I find it to be rather jarring, too, since the moment you are struck dead, according to the server, even before you see what hit you, you see yourself lying on the ground.

I think this view is not so bad, but only after you see yourself drop and die normally, first. I would allow 2-3 seconds of normal camera upon death, then switch to the top view, and perhaps have it rotate around or something. That would allow you to see your death and then switch to the "cinematic" shot of your corpse.

Oh, and the person who raised the point about it being RvR and thus they would not want a corpse to scout around, hence the top cam, that is quite a clever observation. I would never have thought of that, that is for sure.
