Remember back in 1993 when Hillary lead the movement for socialized healthcare that crashed and burned? Some interesting documents have been released regarding this.

At last someone has seen the point of this thread. I am not an american but when i keep seeing threads like ..why do 88% of AFRICAN AMERICANS BLAH BLAH...IT CRATES ON ME. This thread was never meant to be offensive, it was to put my point across that white americans like to refer black americans as african americans .

Imagine the loathing black americans must feel everytime they are refered to as "african american". It just goes to show the double standards of some white americans. There is thread in this forum called.."why do 88% of african americans vote democrat" but i see no complaining about that but when white americans are described in the same way all hell breaks lose.
Lets hope the next time you hear that term being put to a black american you show the same passion in defending his honor or is it only when white americans are described as european american you get defensive.
Free healthcare works around the world and much better than what America has in place currently seeing as everyone gets treated and doesn't have to worry about their finacial issues.
in the UK its what 7 months to get to see a doctor for an appointment now thats what i saw on the news at least.
and i know in canada its about 6.
Making the health care system public is putting it in the same hands as the people who make the MVD so efficent......

Like I said, you assume much. I grew up in the inner-city, I don't use "African-American". I'm well aware how ignorant and stupid the word is, not so much offensive, as it is just stupid.

I don't assume anything but like i said no one seemed to mind the term being used in the other thread but here we are in a thread that describes white americans as "european american"and people are up in arms.. Why didnt you show the same disgust in the other thread?Not one person complained in the other thread but here when the shoes is on the other foot you have something to say. You didn't get anything lol..The word you are describing means black skin so why would i be offended if my skin is black. Go back to roman times and early greek and you will find the N word is actually a name just like tom or mark.
It was a popular Israelite name over 2000 years ago . Its only in the last 300 years the word has been used in a derogatory fashion.

Pity you didn't find the term "african american" as offensive in this mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/164355 thread even though you ran a post in it but failed to even mention the term or show the same disgust. Are you a member of the KKK or are you "the man" .
Guess people feel silly now they have been exposed as hypocrites.
Why do all people with European Ancestry have to be called white? I don't want to be summed up in the same group that enforced slavery, committed hate crimes, used child labor, and even made up generalizations about people from my ancestry that stick to this day.
I'd Rather just be called American. And yes, I plan on voting Republican this year.
