I would like to try it right off the bat. I played GW in Beta and had a good time of it and I would like to try it again for GW2.

There aren't many MMOs that can sell me off release but GW2 is a go for me. GW1 was so awesome that I can't wait to see Anet outdo themselves.

While I'm not a huge fan of GW1, GW2 is going the be more like a traditional MMO where you can interact with random people while you're adventuring.

Also, you will only be allowed to bring 1 henchmen with you, so you will have to group sometimes.

These were my main complaints about GW1 and they are being fixed for GW2. So I'm gonna buy it!

The only thing I hated about the original was the lack of freedom. Instanced everything - no jumping - linear areas. GW2 looks to fix all that - whats not to like? I'm in.

It is still the best looking MMO on the market imho as well.

its a definite buy for me

1- im a huge fan, been playing since beta (stopped for a while though) and they are bringing the non-instanced into it, which will be the "best of both worlds"

2- will fit with my collection of GW boxes)

Already a given I will be playing it, been playing for 2+ years now. It's going to be pretty awesome.

I'll buy it, of course, but i'll be in the middle of a Degree upon release, so probably wont play it as much as i did GW (which was alot).

I think that playing a competitive MMO from as early as possible returns substantial reward later down the line. It's far easier to be a part of the higher tier of a games community if you have played from Beta, or close.

To say that I'll definitely buy the game would be wrong as the chances exists that the game will be a big failure, however I consider that chance next to non existent. As a true believer in mathematics though, you shouldn't say definitely if you're not 100% sure, and that I'm not. I would say that I will with 99% certainty buy the beta (if one comes) and with 98% certainty buy the game. Regarding how long it will keep me playing is another thing however.

I am very excited about GW2 and will beg to be in the beta. If the game brings in the elements that Anet has promised to, I think it'll be the next Lotro and possibly beat WoW with subscribers.  You add the no monthly fee thing into a quality MMORPG and watch the market of MMO's change over night.

It will be only retail price

There will not be a monthly subscription

    So 100% sure will buy

Well i will for sure buy it , but i had had my doubts . I do really like GW , but i was not sure that number 2 would bring something new. But reading this artickel about "how to make a good mmo" did give my faith,

I  think that arena net might actual be the compagny best suited to bring the mmo scene forward. the insights here is some of the most spot on i have seen for a long time, ( maybe contended with some of the design decissions in WAR)

Forget buying it at release.........count me in for PreOrder baby!!!  Also a lifetime membership.....ohhhhhh wait.....that's right it comes with a built in lifetime membership making it one of the best deals available like GW1 was/is.

I am hoping to get into my first beta when this comes out.  I am looking forward to the opportunity to be some of the first to play it.  I am wondering if I should start an e-mail campaign now?  Then again a year or so worth of e-mails might very well put them off too, so I will hold on for a bit.

Close to 3 years worth of playing the original, I am in for GW2.

With the way they did GW definitely im in for GW 2 plus it makes my GW boxes also complete together with my GW memorabilia (pins, shirts, cap, posters, etc..,) definitely i'll do everything to be  a CB Tester

Guild Wars was the first mmo I've ever really got into...the hack and slash grind of many mmo's in free range games bored me beyond belief. The change from instanced scares me a bit that the game will switch to grinding...but I'm trusting that AreaNet knows what they are doing. I'm buying it right off the bat, no matter what reviews it gets in pre-beta/beta.

Personally, my laptop isn't meant for gaming, but if there is a console version, i will definitely buy GW2 IF they keep it free to play (aside from buying the game).

  • OrthedosOrthedos Member Posts: 1,771

Its a bit rash to say I will buy GW2, b/c there is so little information about it.

Given the fame of GW, and my goodwill about GW, its almost certain I will try GW2.  Its worth $50, as a token of support.

  • GodliestGodliest Member Posts: 3,486

From what I've seen in Guild Wars and the little information that's been released about Guild Wars 2 it seems to me like that will be a definite choice. However, taking into consideration that there is yet a long time left I will probably wait and look at how the game's look turns out to be before buying it. But the chances on me getting Guild Wars 2 are extremely big.

Fanboi me will get it even if its garbage, which I 99.9% doubt it will be!

  • Par-SalianPar-Salian Member Posts: 284

I will definitely buy it as soon as it comes out.  I have mixed feelings about the instancing...in one way, it will be nice to be able to bump into another group of players in the wilderness but, on the other hand, there will be a risk of players staking out certain areas for farming, etc.
