The best servers for US are Chilastra, Bria and Bloodfin, for Europe: Chimaera. if you decide to join Chilastra, my home server, be sure to hit me up, my IGN is saay. The guild im in is a multi-factional guild, very friendly, helpful and fun, but mature at the same time; we're called GPC - if you think this suits you then contact a guy named Stefon in game, and if you join we will be sure to help you level etc

Starsider is also a great server.

Don't wish to confound you or present too many choices but Valcyn is also a great server. It is the only one I have ever played on and I have been active since game launch. We have an awesome space community and host bi-weekly story arcs for space pvp and roleplay. There are also some good sized ground pvp battles from time to time at various GCW bases and player cities.
I would suggest creating a character on a few servers and testing them out to see what fits you best as far as people, guilds and attitudes go. They can vary wildly from server to server.
