Just thought I'll pop up a thought: WAR will be disliked by a lot of the 'market' ... GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! The more players WAR upsets the more I want to play it as it just proves Mythic aren't going to bend over backwards to cater for the whole gamers marking by adding things like stealth, etc etc.. They want their own game to work on it's own merts not try to rope in everyone with everything they 'want'. NICHE MARKET FTW!
Except I disagree, because while I was wholesale sold and waiting for this game on the edge of my seat for the longest time since I love warhammer, the community that built up around it and "WoW appeal" it's taken on has put me off and made me so jaded to the idea of playing it that I'm considering passing on it altogether. The fact is that WAR has already attracted the mass market, and all the lovely crap associated with it.
So perhaps you should be in the AOC forums then? At least my opinion was made by actually reading up on the game . Yours was not. I don't care about the fact that you like AOC and not WAR. Good for you. But don't come here and speak uninformed gibberish about the game we are gonna play. If you have questions about the game ask them. Remember you came here saying : " Have fun in WOW2 ...Ohh sorry I mean WAR" AOC aint nothing special either if you go by simple comparaison points like you do. Combat : you hit keys to make attacks. Evry mmo does that, classes : they all do . copy Exp and level: damn aoc , nothing original yet. PVE questing. : wow clone see when you make broad comparaisons , everything looks like anything.
Half true. The combat is completely new to mmos. Combat like most hack n slash games. Thats what appeals to me.
I wouldn't say, with the existance of DDO that a twitch combat system could be characterized with 'completely new to mmos'. AoC may very well have been inspired by another existing mmo for their combat.
I love it when people claim that Warhammer Online will be huge, revolutionary, and not at all like WoW, when in fact it's yet another Everquest clone ... as if we needed any more of those. What's more, it's based on one of the most cliche fantasy franchises in the history of fantasy franchises.
At least Conan has potential, though I'd guess it won't do much better than Tabula Rasa.

Couldn't agree more, same old class / races pop up in an mmo.
War will probably have stealth
It will have raids
It has limited crafting
It has the instanced scenarios
It has repetition with a world that resets and building that magically get rebuilt and everyone knows the layout after a few goes.
Its going to be a good game for 2 months then it will be just the same thing over n over, draw them in the hundreds and thousands and then watch the mass exodus, when people realise Paul Barnett Bullshitter conned them all.

Yes... But shit all people play DDO. It's just a wad of instances... Not really what AoC is.
