Stealth Information

I wanted to put together a post that we could share links and information on the stealth elements and classes of AoC. I have found a few links that tell about stealth in game. There isnt much class specific information yet, but If anyone has a link to Ranger, Assasin or Barbarian footage... post here!

Here are just a few of the links I have stumbled on with regards to the stealth system

Q&A #1- The first few minutes of this q&a are about stealth. The rest deals with raiding, loot systems, the removal of in game "hell" and the female avatars. Worth a watch if you have a half hour.

GC07- This is a short clip of an assasin at work. Im sure Ive found a better quality clip of this, but I dont really have the time to dig it up right now. I wish the stealth system could have been used by the player a bit better, but capture the flag probably isnt the best example of gameplay.

There are a few more that you guys may be interested in, but most of this stuff is outdated gameplay footage you have all probably seen. If anyone has a decent vid or article link on any rogue class, please post it here.

I think Q+A #1 is telling pretty much all about stealth.

    All classes have stealth

Assassin is the master of stealth

Other classes are able to train stealth and put points into feats to become better at it

Stealth skill, lightning, cone of view and sound are the basics. Cloth armor doesnt make noise while a full plate armor does. (Bring your oil can tanks :P )

Detection of stealthed people seems to be a skill or class/racial thing. It was said that some people might see a char while others dont.

This all seems to be awesome and fresh

Not fresh with games... But fresh from the MMO perspective.

Look at NWN... Everyone can stealth... but some classes are better than others and if you wear armor your chances of being quiet are dropped a little depending on what you are wearing.

The Q&A 1 link does answer alot of questions, but I have yet to see anything but a bit of assasin gameplay footage and what looked like a fighter class shooting a bow. I was hoping someone might be able to post a link to Ranger footage without breaking any NDA.

Oh well... patience is a virtue when it comes to mmo's.

jepp, you know once logged in :D

But really, you can figure it. It depends on armor and feats. You will get a baseline stealth and then it depends on how much you want to invest into it. If it supports your gameplay you will spent points, else you wont. If you want to stealth you will try to stay in the shadows, you will hug any wall available and you probably will need the patience to wait for the night ;)

I am quite sure that it is possible to build a sniper type of ranger if you want. Someone who is not easily detectable while hiding in the shadows of a bush.

What i dont know but would like to know is, if there are skill points to earn by the time you use stealth successful. Learning by doing so to say.

Not about stealth, but about the ranger

Its seems nothing survives more then two arrows. You dont need stealth :P The animated hair is really an eyecatcher.
