A great game

A overall good game. Great PvP and the graphics are great. The sound is good and the fighting is clean. Bad side, long first update time, can't fight some of the monsters in the game and, sometimes can't finish quests. However for being in beta this is a finominal game.

Shaiya has not been in beta for several weeks now. Once they opened the item shop, it was retail release. Huckleberry, the admin, even said so on the site.

I don't recommend this game. Like all item shop games it sucks if you don't buy a lot from the item shop to keep up with the other players.

Though you could have been a bit more oblique, that's exactly the same opinion I would present myself.

It's not just to keep up with other players it is to keep yourself sane! The game as all F2P are designed to make XP'ing super bad w/o item mall. You will hit for 100-120 w/o item mall or 600+  on yellows as an example.

Since the feeble crafting of lapis and stuff is like 5 minutes of your time, and quests are revolved around killing 10 of this or that,it really is a low content game.So you can flail away at 100 a hit for hours on end or speed the process by using item mall, either way your just passing time aimlessly.

I want to play MMOGs where you earn your levels and items, not where you are coerced into spending hundreds of dollars to be able to compete and survive. Playing MMOGs is supposed to be an investment of time, that's why I enjoy playing them instead of just a single box game which has a short lifespan.

I met a lot of players who spent more than $150 US in one month. I would rather spend $50 for the client and $20 a month for a subscription based MMOG where the developers aren't selling advantages and spamming all the channels trying to convince players to buy more and more.

I agree and the only reason these games survive past one week is because there marketing was smart. You see people like to flock to games that are BUSY/FULL/ACTIVE.By allowing the freebies in it gives a game a sort of busy look wich entices others to join and it snowballs. The free ability also allows players to try it out with no cost, wich again makes the servers  full and gives a game the look of being busy.Nothing worse than a noob joining a game and finding the noob zone empty.By allowing freebies in the game it will have a steady flow of players just wanting to try it out.

The problem is that they rely on the actual paying customer to pay more than the normal and design there game that way.Either way i agree with you in that these games are junk and IMO they NEVER have content and look like game engines designed for a ps1.

Misinformation on your part just to get people to play. I had a lvl 47 normal mode priest so I know what I am talking about.

The item shop sells double experience stones which many players were using so they could reach hard mode and ultimate mode really fast. The item shop also sell power stones which increase stats and damage. Neither of those items are available as drops. Once all these hard modes and ultimate modes started flodding the PvP areas, it became evident how outmatched casual players were who didn't want to buy items.

You can't compete in this game without them anymore. I don't recommend Shaiya unless you are willing to spend a lot of money in the item shop.

TOUCHE ! i am glad someone else has finally seen the light .These F2P games are the biggest joke to gaming.I got to hand it to the marketing people who thought this idea up though because it apparently works wonders for the korean gaming industry.

I surely hope this format of gaming does not start to flood us over here in north america as it would totally ruin gaming forever.IMO what they have found is that they believe the majority of players DO want an advantage over others and are willing to pay for it.The other thing is something i believe to be true is that MOST players once they have played for months feel a NEED to stay. The reason is because if they leave they feel they just wasted all there time for nothing and or they feel they have achieved friends in the game to wich they might not find elsewhere.

They cover just about every angle in there games  like allowing players to change appearance or re roll there stats or buy items to counter balance the horrible grind, yep a brilliant marketing ploy.

I might add the game is junk LMAO.Not bad as far as F2P games go,but that is because they are all junkl,it is merely near the top of the heap.If you had to play a free game by these guys ,play LAST CHAOS it is still junk but has alot more in depth gameplay than shaiya.SHAIYA has what?1 server LC has like 14 i think maybe more, there is a reason why lol.

I believe this game is decent, not the best F2P, but I find it enjoyable enough to get on a few times a week.
I do enjoy the 1-15 pvp, however. You don't necessarily accomplish anything, but it gives you a feelings as if you are XD.
Everything else is not so good, but I'm not complaining too much ^-^

We all know F2P games will never be as developed as P2P, but, I find shaiya....alright.

I don't recommend nor disuade the play of this game. If you want to find out if it's fittin for you, play it for yourself and make your own opinions.
