That statement right there prevents me from believing anything you have said. WoW is a terrible game and hellokittyonline is better than it. It is an instant gratification newb game, and obviously you fall into that.

Terrible games do not have Blizzards subs.  Second...all GAMES are instant gratification games.  Anyone whom disagrees with this obviously has never had to actually earn something in real life.  Assuming a person HAS earned real life success...and STILL thinks games are not about instant gratification....I can only suggest that these people play korean super grinders as nothing else will properly simulate actual work for them.

Ok, pardon for me not explaining. Instagratification as in first person shooters everyone at the same level. Blizzard has developed an illusion for people to think they have done something when they just beat what was handed out easily 1 month later. When people complain about carebears they should look at WoW. Succeeding in life, well being a medical student I can't say I have done anything yet, but i'll give you that it is work.

Pardon a gamer for expecting games to have content, and not just bs fluff.

You need medic buffs/ent buffs if you want to pvp, and those can take a while to find if you are returning.  If you die, you lose them, so you gotta get em all over again.

If you die you have to wait 10 mins for rez sickness to pvp again, or fly to a planet with a cantina that has ents, sometimes its impossible to find an entertainer.

But in any case, who wants to spend an hour buffing for pvp and then when you die rebuff etc?

I'm sure people who want to spend 6+ hours will find the game ok.

    The game is a joke.

Are you sure you played the first 2 years of SWG, cause even though everything has been turned to shit, the aspects you listed are very similar to the pre-cu.  Then again, I havent actually played SWG for almost a year now, so I can't really say much.

I can't believe I'm actually arguing about SWG's awfulness... it should be a given.

This really isn't something to be proud of. Wrong or not, the fact that the guy couldn't figure it out represents a usability problem. Such problems create barriers to entry or in this case, re-entry. These flaws make people look and feel stupid, perhaps, but the fact of the matter is that poor design put people into those situations in the first place.

Buffs are mandatory, just like armour is mandatory in SWG PVP. Yes you can chose which buffs you want. I call this punching bag tactics. If every class is getting the same buff that lasts for hours, you might as well just add that stat to their armour.

I agree with the OP about the stupid timesinks because of this. Rez sickness is easily removed though. But that makes it a stupid effect too. Why have it in the first place, if its removed so easy like that at a npc next to where you rez?

If you know what you're doing then no, buffs are not mandatory for PvP.

The clone sickness serves as a (small) credit sink.

    This is the bottom line.

SOE copied everything from WoW except for it working and being polished.

The two things that have the most to do with WoWs success, the things that appeal the most to the masses of WoW players that SWG hoped to lure away.

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

If your BUFFED opponent knows what he is doing, but you decide to not use buffs, then you will lose. Your stated reason doesnt make any sense and actually means you wouldnt know what you were doing if you PVP unbuffed.

This is even more the case if it is about group vs group instead of 1vs1. One buffed group will win against one unbuffed group in SWG.

The way entertainer and food buffs work in SWG (unremovable long lasting buffs) make them mandatory because your opponent uses them too and removing them completely from the game doesnt really change PVP. It just saves preparation time.

For PVE, ent and food buffs are an easy button.
