I'm not sure if I got in or not. I got a weird email that seemed addressed to current testers, but was to me. Still says "Applied" on my betacenter thing though ><
Sadly, the fact that they release an email improperly to people makes me question their management skills.
The other issue I have is the rather unprofessional nature of them linking to their forum which appears to be a rather vanilla installation of SMF. Not very professional if you ask me.

Your joking right? I have yet to know of a company that has not made a mistake of this nature at some point. Hell, I have accidently recieved a number of documents from a variety of locations via email simply because my name was similar to someone else who was slated to get the document.
As for their linking to their 'vanilla' forum...it is a private forum not for public consumption. There is no reason to 'fancy it up'. Why waste the resources.
Get off you high horse dude. They are human just like everyone else and a mistake is not indicitive of their 'management skills'. Rather, it is an indication that they are human.
I think everyone with the "mistake" email should be given beta access now
I completely agree with this... of course that's because I got one of them as well, if I hadn't then I'd be against it all the way!

Agreed with Xray. Chill out. We're all ancy about wanting to play the game but it's not a reason to blame them for a small error. I only hope it runs well when the game's development is finished (system-wise)....I think this game has so much potential to be the game that is better than WOW.
This is not like someone went out and broke the NDA and they (mythic) killed them IRL or some excessive thing. Just a small error.
Additionally, WTF is your problem with SMF? Open source is the way to go, and something free and customizable is more than good enough if you don't have sensitive data stored on a forum. Being that this is a pretty big professional company I can assure you that unless someone pulls a stupid by accident its unlikely they even store critical information on it, as a company policy. It's not like they should spend 500 years on development of an unofficial forum design as of yet, before a game has even been released.
With that said, congrats to those that made it, I've only submitted my beta request as of 9/1/07 so I suspect I'll be late to the party

Congratulations! Wish I too could say the same thing.

Ya that's what I figured...
That's 3 different companies now that have done the same thing to me... Makes me wonder how *I* mysteriously keep getting emails I'm not supposed to..
Thanks for the congratz, I'll do my best.
For those similar to Gadunk or still waiting for their guild beta invite/ event/ contest winner/ etc., Joshs' blog sums it up:
I had a small deluge of PMs, emails and frantic IMs waiting for me this morning, so let me just say a few things:

You better take that position very seriously and not just use it as a chance to get a sneak peek at the game! I'd kill to be in your shoes.
I hope I dont have to wait that long, I only applied two weeks ago when I found out you could!
