Only seen screenshots and some videos. And it look a little cute. Is it cute or evil? My questions might sound wierd, but I do not joke. Here we go.
When I look at the characters I can't help it, but it look a little gay. Is it?
Does it have blood effects or flying stars?
Is it a "welcome to happy land" or does it have dark and evil too? Can I be evil or must I be silly like Frodo?
Instances or open?
Character creation make you look like a clone or is it good like SWG?
What kind PvP does it have?
What do you fight for in this game? Xp, faction, land?
Must I be a LOTR nerd to enjoy it?
Thank you.

Personally I think it's way to cute. Very far from my view of Middle Earth at least. It looks like some kind of medieval happy place, not like the Earth 7000 years ago. Some parts of the game are better though, the houses, in Bree for example, are really terrible and doesn't fit with the setting at all. Same problem as with the movies basically.
Still, it is enjoyable if you like casual, instanced PVE-gameplay. It helps to be a fan of the story, just not a too big fan, like I am.
It can be Cute and it can be evil depending which areas you wander into.
There is bloodeffects plus some sparkling effects
Mostly open but there is a lot of instances to raid in or to solve quests in.
Character creation could be better but next patch introduces a barber so you can change hairstyles etc.
PvP is in a specific zone where players level 40+ can go in with their normal toon and fight those players who has a level 10+ player but chooses to play as a level 50 monster.Zone is ablout 4 times larger than WoW's biggest battleground.Next patch introduces a PvM dungeon DAOC style where you have to conquer keeps to gain acces.
You fight for Xp,fame,ranks,deeds,equipment.
No you don't have to be a lotr nerd to like the game.I never read any of those boooooring books but waited for the movie and i like the game.Been playing for more than a year now incl beta (started to read the books but man they are boooring)

Sounds great.
I'm looking at a PvMP movie and it look great. Sound and how they move. Is there any plans on making monsters play able outside the pvp? They look so nice hehe.

based upon your initial question and statments made therein, I don't think you will like this game. It is not based on any movies and more on the books.

Yes this game is the most realitic game out there...acording to fantasy games
Playing: World of Warcraft.
Played: Lord of the Rings Online, Starwars Galaxies.
Tried: Starwars the Old Republic, Everquest 2, Guild Wars, Vanguard, Age of Conan, Aion.
So far I'm doing great. Much better then it look on videos and screenshots. Youtube need some better LOTRO videos, they are horrible there.
Anyway I don't know what it is, but I have this good feeling inside me when I play. Like when I first started to play SWG.

It is a good game and an aquired taste in my opinion. You have to set aside your preconcieved ideas of what a MMO is. I say this cause most MMO's now adays have a tradtional PvP system. Were LOTRO doesn't. You have to judge it for what it is not for what it isn't compared to other games.
Have fun in the game and goodluck.
Some parts are cute, but I never think it's overly cute, otherwise I wouldn't play it, most likely! I think they've done an excellent job portraying Middle Earth. Some areas are light and happier, while others are really dark and creepy. Best music in an MMO to date, as well.
