Few Questions

Well, unfortunately Tabula Rasa made the dumbest decision of their online career when they decided not to put out a trial.  They could get half of my friends if they kept that 3 day trial despite it being little time.

Anyway, I have a few questions since they can't make an informative website either:

People say it's similar to World of Warcraft and Guildwars in a sense.  I used to play WoW, and I enjoyed going out and 'grinding'... basically killing what I want:  Do I have the abilities to leave whatever town there may be by myself and just killing aliens for the hell of it?

There is the 'profession' of crafting items.  How difficult/easy is this?

They say they have an economy.  Doesn't seem from the website to be a thriving economy, how is it?

What kind of credits do they have?  or is it just trading?

Is anything customizable.  I realize I can get what type of armor and such I want, but can I tweak my weapons or anything so i can own more aliens?

I have more questions, but they will come depending on the answers to those.

The game is an awesome concept, I'm just extremely disappointed on the work the company did marketing.  Although they aren't dominating like WoW, they still have HUGE amounts of potential.  It IS a next-gen game, never been made before.  They could be striving now, but they unfortunately left a whole lot out.

A demo is crucial.  And if you have to know someone to get a demo code, they're never going to make money.   You have to have that one friend who gets the game and creates a hype in your school and makes the game popular.

Anyway, thanks.

There is the 'profession' of crafting items.  How difficult/easy is this? If you're sort of new to this genre then i think it's safe to say that its still fairly easy, if you are what we call a vet player of MMO's then it to easy and missing some more depth, there has been talk of crafting getting a overhaul, but as far i know no details on that ...yet.., but for starters it's a nice touch together with combat, for the vet players it's simply not deep enough, but it is possible to enjoy it, but not as a secondary profession.
They say they have an economy.  Doesn't seem from the website to be a thriving economy, how is it? There is a Military Surplus Market (auction house) does work very similair to wow's auctionhouse, personaly i only use it to sell gear/weapons/schematics/ingridients as for me everything i need i already have or will get in time, kinda feel this is the same for many other players aswell, but once in a while MS can get in handy due to the need of some ingridient i need for some upgrade schematic. Also there has been talk about setting up some sort of new website where info of all sorts will be brought together, not sure if this will include a trading channel aswell, we do have a trade chat channel but i for one have not use that so can not comment on that, maybe someone else could
What kind of credits do they have?  or is it just trading? Just named............Credits and yes you can also trade with others (default key> CTRL<target person to trade with> or at MS (Military Surplus)
Is anything customizable.  I realize I can get what type of armor and such I want, but can I tweak my weapons or anything so i can own more aliens? You got your basic (grey) gear/weapons which you can upgrade with upgrade recipy's completly to your liking, or upgrade other gear/weapons where some you might upgrade a certain stat or add another stat. Not sure if you will be albe to buy some aliens thought there are some pets ingame...just kidding

The game is an awesome concept, I'm just extremely disappointed on the work the company did marketing.  Sure they want succes but they are not aming to dominate WOW, they alreayd said (NCSoft) they have other projects in the works they want to see getting close ot wow numbers Although they aren't dominating like WoW, they still have HUGE amounts of potential.  It IS a next-gen game, never been made before.  They could be striving now, but they unfortunately left a whole lot out.

Awesome.  Much much help.  I don't think I have any other questions.  I'm going to give this game a try with a trial if I ever get a chance to get a key.

If not I'll probably buy at the end of the month or if I ever have money.  Between gas, repairs, insurance, and school I'm not doing to well.

Now I just have questions left to be answered when I first log on.

    Again, thanks.

I did think up another question:

I noticed there are training points and such to put into skills.

    Are these points redistrubutable?

With WoW, I have to pay obscene amounts of money to get my talents moved while Guild Wars lets you move them freely.  I want to know, so if I do get a trial I can do some planning to optimize my gameplay and really get a feel for the game.

Are these points redistrubutable? Not in the sence of that one character, but this is where cloning comes in handy, at lvl 5,15,15 you get the change to clone your character, this is at each time before you hit 5/15/30 you will get a message (check/click button on the centre right side of your screen flashing popup that appears when you reach your next tier. It will tell you it is time to select your next teir profession. Now when you are standing at your trainer and select him/her be sure to select CLONE in the window that popsup BEFORE you select your new tier. By clicking CLONE you are being taken to character selection to be able to CLONE your character, this clone has all atribute/skill points able to be spend freely, thus making up for some mistakes you might have made with your main, which could result in your clone becoming your new main sort of speak. When you log back into the game world speak to the trainer again and NOW select your new profession.
You can also gain clonecredits by completing ToO's (Target of Oppertunity) but just some advice, don't pursuit the ToO's as if they are a quest, simply by doing the regular quest ingame (Not ToO related) you will atleast form what i can tell from my own experiance get about 70/80% of ToO's done. But be sure to pick up the ToO's each time you enter a new area, meaning when you are done in Wilderness, make sure you first pick up the ToO from Divided before you go of questing in Divided.
Same with your clone at lvl 15, make sure that before you clone at 15 that you got all or atleast most logo's that are required for that lvl before making a new clone. Your Clone only hold completed quest's/ToO's, quest  or ToO's that have not been completed will not be added to your clone so you have to start those again.
In short: cloning is good to make up for mistakes you might have made with your first toon
Cloning also can be used to switch profession, for example if you have a couple of clone credits you could try all other professions, example you went soldier, from then on you're not sure if you would like Ranger or Commando, in this case you could try both and see which one you like best and continue to play the one you like best.
With WoW, I have to pay obscene amounts of money to get my talents moved while Guild Wars lets you move them freely.  I want to know, so if I do get a trial I can do some planning to optimize my gameplay and really get a feel for the game. But with those games you COULD alter your main toon, in TR you can not.

Ah, not being able to remake toon is bad.  I guess that's what they made cloning for.  A great idea.

Sorry for all these questions, I just don't have the resources to go pick this up right now and if the game stinks, it won't be worth it.  Although it's sounding almost perfect right now.

Few more questions   I'll make them short:

If I'm a clone, can I still gain the XP for the next level?

Do I HAVE to decide that level, or can I continue to collect "cloning credits" in order to mess around with each character?

How is the leveling system?  (Time it takes to get certain levels)

What opportunities are there endgame?  (When I have reached level cap (50 I think))

Hope you're not mad at me, I'm ever so curious.  And no one has any demo keys available.

If I'm a clone, can I still gain the XP for the next level? Your Clone is no different then your "main toon", so YES you can still gain and even decide to ONLY play your clone, but.......the xp you gain with your main or clone does not transfer to each other, you still need to lvl them both seperatly up to 30 or even a next lvl.
Do I HAVE to decide that level, or can I continue to collect "cloning credits" in order to mess around with each character? Every character or clone you make is able to collect clonecredits. You can even go back...lets say you have completed ToO Wilderness and Divided, you make a clone but felt the Wilderness ToO where faster to complete, so you take your clone back to Wilderness and speak to the ToO mission giver and start Wilderness Too all over again. Not sure if you could do this with your first toon as i have not tried that, but have done this with a clone and it worked for me.
How is the leveling system?  (Time it takes to get certain levels) This is personal and totaly depending on how much time someone has (you) to be able to play TR, like i said the gameplay is fairly easy, so i can imagine if i would have had time to spend lets say 5/8 hours a day i think you could be max lvl in no time (maybe 1/2 month) playing it casual it might take you 3/5 months, talking about just lvling one toon. If you mix up playing with your clones lvl'ng might take abit longer, for me it might take about 6/8 months before i reach max lvl in TR due to using/trying clone's, experimenting with different builds with my clones, and for the most part i really enjoy exploring, meaning that i try to find most logo's in area's without getting the quest for them, also enjoy exploring the areá before hitting the quest stage as that gives me a better understanding where to go, due to me NOT wanting to have the pointer tell me where to go...afcourse i have used the map/pointer at occasions, but i prefere switching them of, again giving ME personaly a better challenge then merly following hte carrot...sort of speak
    I think))
Hope you're not mad at me, I'm ever so curious.  And no one has any demo keys available.
See no reason why i should be mad at you. If i didn't like your questions you wouldn't see me answering them  And sorry i aint got any key's....left.......

Awesome, the game sounds completely kickass.  I really want to get this now.

My friend and I discussed building a game like this, minus the cloning stuff.  A long time ago actually.  Seems that they got ahead of me, which is fine because I don't want to go into game developing.

Well, as my final trials of my select games retire, I'm going to have to get this.  You have throughly persuaded me.  Perhaps I'll see you when I get it, and you can answer my other billion questions, lol.

Just a matter of time.  I think I'm going to wait until I have my music written for Battle of the Bands, but I don't know if I can hold out that long!

    Thanks again!

And if you know anyone with demo key things, please tell me.  I'd love to try it first if at all possible.  I figuree they only keep away from giving keys due to server space... but I'm not sure.  Giving out trials to everyone would pull millions into the game, but like you said they want to do it in another way.

    They suit themselves.

    Morning

Sorry no first person look, but you have the over the shoulder look which is fairly close, i do love games in first person view, but i feel TR will not lend itself well due to the chaos on certain battlefield/instance's. For me personbaly in TR i really NEED a overhead view of the battleground i'm walking on, enemy's coming from all directions left/right/forward from the back, so there is abit to much chaos unlike most common MMO's where you mostly will fight or kitten just several mobs, in TR be prepared to be ambushed by abit more then several mobs.
