I personally don't think there is going to be a significant change in any particular direction during these days, but I know I can be very wrong (I'll admit that I did expect higher numbers of users during this time period).

I would like to know in the early days of Eve-Online, did Eve have such a problem with player population at the beginning?  Or did it just start low and grew, with only short periods of drops or level?  I use Eve as a reference since there are some similarities with both the games and companies.

    And that is why...

Conservatives' pessimism is conducive to their happiness in three ways. First, they are rarely surprised -- they are right more often than not about the course of events. Second, when they are wrong they are happy to be so. Third, because pessimistic conservatives put not their faith in princes -- government -- they accept that happiness is a function of fending for oneself. They believe that happiness is an activity -- it is inseparable from the pursuit of happiness.

I believe EVE launched with 25-30k subs.

p.s. Remember though, that's not spread over a dozen servers!

Seeing all the failures SOE had with distributiing the game at launch and giving retailers their copies (or enough copies) I suspect that a decent number of sbuscription renewal periods will come several days after the release date of the game.

I'm not sure this game will get the same 'boost' that Eve experienced, because there isn't another game that chased away its players like SWG did.  Many people went to Eve after that for the crafting and PvP.

    You got a point there.

    I concur.

I  cannot understand this fuss over the free month ending. People won't get the game, play it for 1-2 weeks, or less, hate it and then say, well I have a free month so I am playing it until the month ends. So as to indicating the population online it means nothing.

Sub numbers might change, at the end of the month, but for the most part that will be players who have already stopped playing, so shots of the server screens won't make a differance.

I certainly would not play a minute past my enjoyment ending regardless of free months.

Frankly I cant remember the last time I saw a game drop off the front page of this site so fast. Heck even Vanguard stayed in the top 10 highest ranked games for longer.

I had predicted during beta that this game would be a low pop niche game and most said I was crazy. I said it would launch with about 100k subs and decline from there.Well it looks like I was right but. It looks to have launched with about 50k subs and most have not paid for their first month.

What will happen? It will get shrank to three servers maybe two and become station pass trash in no time flat. I would say by mid summer at the latest.

May I make a correct assumption that with the lack of interest of posting screenshots, so has the lack of interest in paying for PotBS?

My wife and I just got the game this past weekend. She hates it. I think it has potential but I won't be playing because of the extremely low populations and the incredible amount of Gold spamming. I don't think I have ever seen so many gold spammers in an MMO in my life.  It seems SOE games have the highest gold spamming...makes me wonder.

I've been looking for a good MMO since Vanguards fall and I have yet to find one.
