Do not bother with tihs game unless you want spend hours altering CoX and Vista files. I upgraded my system to Vista, and CoX is a complete slide show. I was loading this up for my 12 year old at home, and he is severely pissed that CoX won't work right. It ran worse than Vanguard did, I didn't think that was possible either...
WTG NCSoft. This company is fastly becoming a 2nd tier provider of MMO's.... With TR bombing and CoX not keeping up with technology, they really do not have much to offer for Vista users or people who do not prefer Asian Grindfests (sounds like a dance move don't it?)...

Don't know what you're talking about. I've been running CoX on my Vista Business without any problems for a while now. No decreased performance, no things like that. It runs just as smoothly as back on XP. The only performance problems I get are usually lag issues. <.<
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7
Wow, you got something seriously screwed up somewhere. Yes, CoX does have issues with Vista. It has been a known issue for some time now, I believe since Vista was released. If you have been playing the game for a while you should know this. If you just bought it and didn't read the system recquirments then I don't think any of us here can help you.
There are ways to get it to work, but it will recquire taking the same amount of time you spent typing this rant post. All you have to do is go to the tech forums on the website and you should find what you are looking for.
So, at christmas i had gotten enough cash to buy vista, so i did. I just did an upgrade install, so that i wouldn't have to reinstall all my previous games / programs / and what nots.
I've never had a problem with any of my games (LOTRO, CoX, WoW and Vanguard)
Really, i have no idea where all these problems i keep hearing about comes from. Did you remember to upgrade all your drivers? sounds like a driver problem, more then a OS problem imo.
------------------------------
The only consistent problem with Vista was with cursers, which was fixed by adding -compatiblecursers to the command line. And even that is fixed with the latest patch on Test.
If something is that bad, it does sound like a Driver problem to me.
BTW, 12-year-olds aren't allowed to get "pissed" at anything. When they grow up and get a job and bills to pay, then they can cop an attitude like the rest of us.

I suggest looking at your computer's system memory. If your Vista machine has only 1 GB of RAM then it will not be able to run games, and you will see that kind of terrible performance in many titles.
Vista itself will consume close to 1 GB of RAM just to idle.
4 GBs if the new 2 GBs, but with the direction that gaming is heading I recommend more if you can afford it and/or if your motherboard supports it.
Good luck & have fun.
Personally, from my experience VISTA has issues with vista. The whole OS is shoddy in my book. Its like they designed an OS for retards to use so they couldn't screw things up....but did it in a way that prevents retards from doing anything at all. Most everyone I know just re-installed XP and said "screw DX10".
That said, everyone else here is right....if the game is unplayable at this point then its not particularly CoX's fault. It could be something on your end, if you just upgraded to Vista then you probably have new drivers and support tools to install. It makes sense that you haven't noticed this issue before now if you aren't heavy into new age MMO's....most of them can still run without the best drivers.
4 Gig of RAM, nice though it sounds, is not really neccesary. I played CoX one only 1 Gig, but with a very good Vid card.
I'm also pretty sure there was more then just the cursor thing. The trick was that you had to know how to configure Vista to gt it working right. There was a few people in my SG that had trouble with it.
Sounds like a user/computer problem. I run vista on a pretty high end gaming rig and I have no problems, in fact I run every setting for COX at max, the game is beautiful and never lags. Maybe you have a virus.
