Frozen Throne important for the story?

I just read that this takes place 4 years after the events of Reign of Chaos, I havent finished Frozen Throne yet but am curious how it will fit in since it isnt mentioned.

    When you finish FT, it will make better sense. Trust me. If it doesn't I'll help. But you should really finish TR first.

    Yeah you should finish up TFT (As I should do again cuz my memory isnt what it used to be haha image ) as everyone who has W3 and TFT should do to get a refresher as to what happend 4 years earlier before WoW takes place.

    it probably is a good idea to finish tft because of its great story. you will not only know about all the characters that will appear as npcs in WoW, but  its just good to know about everything that happens at the end of tft to know whats going on in WoW.
