VsoH is not the same game that was released,SoE has worked very hard at fixing it,and i see no other way for it to go apart from the EQ2 route,as in a bloody good game in the end,not the swg/nge way as so many small minded posters hark on about whenever they have somthing to hammer soe about...get over it tis just one game they killed, yes a bloody good one i agree and i was there from beta up untill the time they killed it with nge, however this dont make all of soes games turkeys nuff said.
p.s. dont anyone hollor MxO either monlith killed that way before soe got it,as on the very first day of release when everyone knew the beta was allways gonna be the finished game
Yeah.... No. VG blows, end of story.
No flames, but there are many games where you could have played for four days and not hit a bug yet, so that should tell you something right there if you've hit some.
Why do you assume its too hard for us to play? Maybe we don't care for the large, empty world with nary a player in sight, or perhaps its the very poor PVP model?
I'm sure its gotten a lot better, but why did you feel the need to come on the forums and start yet another VG flame thread? Not having enough fun in the game eh?

This is still going on a year after launch!!lol
I seem to remeber being in these forums around the same time last year hearing this exact same argument.lol
Someone who bash is someone who love.
Why do you think I keep repeating that I want a server where I could earn everything only grouping/soloing? Definitely not because I hate it.
But it is too late to bring such a server, it would prolly just piss the existing players base who want everyone to have the same game they have. (mostly, players who would rather have pick such a server but endure sacrifices because it wasn't available, they would be furious)

I went back to VG for the x-mas period aswell, and after the disapointment I found for VG on launch I was surpised to enjoy playing it, sure it still has bugs and could use some work but every game does, but it has come a long way since launch.
I resubscribed and am now enjoying playing my Ranger (Still dieing anywhere and everywhere). I do admit I did find it alittle boring for the first 10 levels but once you hit 10 it gets alot better, you start grouping and having a good time.
I would recommend this game to anyone, just give it a chance.
4 days lol. i have played since release and after my whole guild pulling the pin at once as we were all fed up with empty promises. Great that u like it but lets see in 6 months time if u r still playing. i assure u u wont

Well considering ive been playing since day 1 and i havent even touched 2/3 of the content thats there , i would say in 6 months he will just be getting started
Ive never had an alt in any other mmo that ive played past level 10 or 15 before i was re-doing the same content my main did , yet in vanguard ive got 7 alts and havent seen all the content there is . The game is fantastic

Can you please explain me what's so wrong about making alts? Yeh it might be a bit dull in a game where you always do the same quests and pass throught the same areas with each alt, having a little differences between classes. But in VG, there are dozens of zones for each level range and each of them has enough content for you to level up.
In addition, the classes are quite distinct and it's very different experience playing a psionicist or a sorcerer eventho they are both DPS casters. I'm playing it from the start and I still did not see all the content and I'm actually pretty far from it. And I'm playing it 3-5 hours a day. If you have let's say 20 dungeons in WoW and 8 dungeons in LOTRO, there are possibly one hundred of dungeons in VG each with unique quests and storyline.
On the top of it the world is so huge, that it takes exactly 65 minutes (I was checking it out during the holiday event) on a flying mount to get from the northest point to the southest (the distance between the west end and east end is almost the same). Keep in mind, flying mount is at I think 300% of regular speed and it's passing all natural barriers like high mountains so on foot it might takes hours and hours. And the game has not just one continent, but three (although one is a bit smaller). Fine if you don't like big and maybe a bit empty worlds, but do not blame the game for being low on content.
REALITY CHECK
It took me about 4ish? minutes to go from one end of a chunk to another on the basic level 10 horse. Depending on terrain. I don't know if it takes 65 minutes to fly from one tip of the coast to the next on randolph. I recall getting all the rift points attuned to my character with the holiday flying mount in less than an hour each continent. Vanguard is a big game for sure, but what makes it big is that it doesn't waste space like most "zoned" games do with artificial terrain barriers surroundings.
Thillian is right there are a lot of dungeons in the game. I just wish people would go to more than the same 1 or 2 in each level bracket. It can be like pulling teeth to get people to deviate from the populated areas.

<modedit>
Well its exactly like Thillian says and i find all my alts really fun to play , plus am retired i can do what i want when i want. My wife play's and we quite enjoy the game and the guild where in. And thats what gaming is all about or has it been so long since you enjoyed a game that you've forgot that
And if you don't enjoy grouping or doing dungeons, there are still dozens of zones full of solo quests that can keep you busy at every level.
REALITY CHECK
Then I was shoppin around, and it just looked too tempting
Little did I know that VG would become my favorite MMO since Ultima Online!
It gets tough, but remember the BEST XP is always in grps..and right now you can get a group for dungeons all over starting at 13+
I play all ghame
This game is really fun to play and immersive, you just have to be involved.
If it's so fantastic why did you have to make 7 alts
Becouse he wanted to try other classes??...

All of us VG bashers have pretty much moved on to bash other things.
It's not fun to bash VG anymore, kind of like digging up a dead horse and beating it some more.
Many of us bashers will just let VG die in peace.
Never be afraid of choices. More choices are always good things.
I love VG. I wish it would have panned out to be as good as it was originally designed.
If you have a group of friends playing its awesome. I found it kinda hard to get into as a new player, but if you hook up with some other people its a blast. Good crafting system, diplomacy is fun and challenging at times. You just gotta have a really good machine to not get frusterated.
Im back in aswell, im having much more fun this time around.
I started a new character back in dec. with the free month, got him up to level 37 now still having lots of fun.
Judging from all the "noob" questions in the general channel, it seems that alot of people are back to revisit the world of Telon again.
I "nervously" bought this game about 3 weeks ago after following the threads on this forum for over a year. At that time (in the beginnining) I watched from EQ2 as players left and then came back and universally came back saying that game was atrocious and should never have been released in the state it was. I dare say these forums were absolutely dead-on and correct to "bash" Vanguard. I also hope other companies got the message not to release crap before its ready for the "paying" public. IMO these forums functioned the way they should by getting the message out to folks.
So, I'll be honest, Vanguard was not my first or even second choice. However, after giving up on TR( very fun "solo" game) and EQ2 (loved it, and played over 2yrs, but frankly just needed something fresh) I decided to take the plunge and give this game a shot. I AM ABSOLUTELY STUNNED AND IN AWE OF THE GAME!!!! As folks said, yes there are some bugs but as of now (only lvl 15 shaman) these bugs are minor imo. If you decide to try it I think you will like what you see, but it is definitely a resource hog.
Don't blame folks who played in the "early" days for being bitter and it sounds like they have every right to be angry. Nobody, likes being played the chump. However, I can see myself playing this game for a long, long time and liking it based on what I have seen so far. I have no doubt that had it released in it's current state that it would have been highly successful.
Pooks
I bought the game a year ago and only got to lvl 11 after that ijust hated the game, why?
Well First of all like most people sead all the bugs and more bug and even more bugs of cource low preformance and a nasty mem leak, i had like 15 fps out in the wilderness and about 5 in Tursh.
Now after a year i thought.....hell i try out VG again, with my new pc i can play the game with all graphic maxed out at 1200x1024 and actual have fun, i realy have fun in the game, true there is still bugs but not as much a year ago.
Im having a blast with crafting, exploring grouping ect.
Now i have a lvl 29 Paladin and a level 14 warrior( warrior hard to solo, first toon ) and still have alot of things on my to do list.
I never thought i would have this much fun with the game i only thought meh something to play for a 1-2 weeks but nope, im gonna play for months on end.
Vanguard will be succesfully if SOE put in some mo money and recruit some more programmers to realy get this baby on its feets again.
There is so much potential for this game, i realy hope SOE can see that.
