It is not P2P, it will be an item mall sort of game, but Mythos is very much like D2 (and made by the same crew that made Diablo and Hellgate) If it is a diablo look and feel you are looking for, I would recommend you check out Mythos. It is in Beta right now, so you would need to find someone with a Beta invite to give to you (See Mythos invite thread)
Diablo style at the moment theres only really mythos and dungeon runners,mythos has more diabloish gameplay as it has wilderness areas linking everything up rather than just a town with dungeons attached,like DR. Neither really look like diablo,theyre more the non serious,'cartoon' type of graphics rather than aiming for realism.Both are online ARPG games which have lots of people playing all together,but its not a seamless world.
Diablo looks wise,the sort of gothic/horror theme,dark eden fits into,though its a hoffific grind. other than that you could look at helbreath and cronous.
And as dlooney said,Sacred is a good alternative but its a single player game with an online mode (16 players) and also have a look at Fate:the game

umm, Lineage wasn't free last time I've tryed it. and I got problems with launching the game. support didn't help me with that. there was a lot of unreadable symbols and I didn't know where to click actually... asked in support is it ok with symbols, but they didn't answer, seemed to me that there's somekind of a bot talking to me
Just put your email in on the bottom right to apply for Beta (it's in closed Beta atm). This game is VERY close to Diablo II (made by the same guys) so you won't be disappointed ;p (I hope)

Well,if you liked fate then youll like mythos as its basically Fate but reborn online.One of the lead devs is the guy who made Fate.
Dark Eden just went live funnily enough,but as usual with good old joymax,the web servers down :P

Hellgate: London, its the "Spiritual predecessor" to Diablo 2, and has "Some" of the same developers. Blizzard split into three different games after Diablo 2 and some of them founded Flagship while others moved to developing Guildwars. The third group obviously went on to produce World of Warcraft.
