I like that the pvp is fluid. Moving around and breaking line of sight is useful as well. Looks like a lot of fun to me.
Critical thinking is a desire to seek, patience to doubt, fondness to meditate, slowness to assert, readiness to consider, carefulness to dispose and set in order; and hatred for every kind of imposture.
I tried to pay attention to the details the best I could, some very interesting things. Mostly from watching the other two videos, not the Squig Herder one...
1. Black Orcs (tanks) don't suck in PvP - Hurray
2. Black Orcs use combos (Talk of openers and finishers) - Hurray
3. Black Orcs have ability involving a kick to the "jibblies" - Hurray
4. Pace looks fast and frantic, positioning matters, LoS matters - Hurray
5. Squid Herders have multiple Squig types, including Ranged DPS - Hurray
6. Only thing I have never liked is that when you die, the screen kind of pauses for a sec and then does a quick fade then you see your body drop and get the "Rez now?" Box pop-up. I wonder why this is?
7. Squig Herders seem to have common use AoE (or at least frontal arc) attacks, not too strong in power but hits multiple targets - Hurray
8. I love how the arrows arc instead of shooting straight.
9. When the Black Orc solo killed a Stuntie (sorry Dwarf) he got like 2,250 xp. Nice. Leveling from PvP only, here I come!
10. These videos looked like 10vs10 (Squig herder one) and MAYBE 5vs5 or so in the Black Orc ones.. Though they may have been 10vs10 or more too. Dunno. Point is, looked like MUCH more actual killing and fast paced action then any WoW BG
Looking quite nice and coming on nicely but this is Mythic/EA and not Blizzard or Valve we're talking about here so i'm just worried they'll release it tooo early and it'll launch with classes missing and lots of bugs and stuff like that and people will play it once be fed up and go back to WOW leaving the population very low.

Hahahahhahahahha! Guess you didn't play WoW at release. Many people didn't even get to the IN game bugs because the servers we so broken.
Since MythicEa was only just made we can't tell if they're going to release early, and if you go by Mythics track record you'll probably get a stable opening.

The actual game was the most polished mmorpg to date and it was only the servers letting them down probably because they didn't expect the ammount of people playing on day one, if it had the population of anyother mmorpg then i'm sure they would have been fine.
Just using Blizzard as a example of release when the games done and we all know EA's record.

So I guess quest balancing issues, quest loot issues, looting in general from mining nodes, and other rather annoying problems that persisted for several months don't count as bumps in the road with launch? I was there at beta and I was there at launch and while it was alot smoother than some launches its not the best launch out there either.

Some parts were ok, didnt like how spells or arrows followed the target around. Its going to be easy pvp with the circle marker on you telling you where to go, so LoS doesnt matter either with an auto lock. I enjoyed the improvement in graphics and it looked sped up a bit in places which is good. But gosh, at the end all i could think about was Super Mario Bros...
You realize that video was from November...using a version of the game before the Beta went down for christmas? *wonders if anyone ever checks the dates on videos* So most of its probably changed or even gotten better. I still fail to see how anyone can judge the graphics off that video its not a fraps video its done with a hand held camera and while its good enough to make out whast going on its not good enough to see a lick of detail.
I didn't see any 'homing' going on except on some special split shots. I thought the action was great and I really really really wanna play a squig herder.

Some great views all over the web ...these are low quality but still it show what this game its capable of only in its beta phase. pretty soon we will see more insights like keeps and sieges cant wait until then.
That was probably the best RvR footage I've seen so far. I didn't see a single character standing still as if he was rooted to the ground and it seemed like a lot of action was going on all of the time. The movie itself was quite lacking in resolution, but the content was really good. One of the few movies I've seen that makes we want to play the game and try it out for myself.
Still one thing that's a bit annoying is the lack of damage compared to health. The most videos I've seen have featured very weak attacks making killing someone an almost endless fight. I suppose this could be good as you don't die too often, just hopes the combat doesn't get too outdrawn.

Yes, but actually I hope they never change this.
Suffering those one-hit and two-hit deaths in PvP I always felt meant that players had a strong offense with an utterly weak defense.
I feel that it should take time to kill other players rather than have them curl up and die like sensitive little flowers as soon as a bit of damage comes their way.
If players don't die too easily, you will actually have a strategic battle rather than a death-fest.
I like how everything was fast & frenzied but not to the point that its like ha ha I one shot you. What was really interesting was finally getting to see line of sight take effect so it would force the guy to have to move to a better position to take his shots.
I wish the people playing these scenarios at the events would play a larger range of the available toons or group together to show what things could look like with a good tactical group. But once the NDA is lifted we'll see some interesting beta footage (prays).
Squigs for the win!

I'm well aware of that. My concern is that the damage is too small compared to health. Having too much damage is not good (as mentioned in your post), but having too little damage is not good either. You want to keep the action fast paced and active without having people dropping constantly, but neither do you want to have 1 death every 5th minute. Having wrong balance here could very well screw PvP up.

What i love about this vid is the use of the terrain and lots of rocks to jump on and out, looks awesome to hide and use stategic points!
