Worth a shot

Now that I have cancelled my eq and coh accounts I have nothing to do but Civ3 or WC3 and thought i would download AC2 tonight and give it a shot.

For those of you that play, any advice?  I generally prefer to play a rogue, priest or warrior type.  I am not much of a pure caster or hybrid-type player.

Are there arny class/race combinations that are super powerful or super crappy?

What server if I prefer faction based PvP?

HAHAHA! That's hilarious, you sound just like me. When I am not playing Asheron's Call 2, I am playing Civ3 and Warcraft 3 (and Diablo... still.)

Yes, try it.. play it .. love it.

There is 3 types of servers:

Darktide: Full PvP, everywhere... all the time.  The population counts are not that great, but still a real good time.

Coldeve: Kingdom versus Kingdom - Kingdoms: Order, Dominion and Shadow - you may dispatch anyone from an opposing kingdom.  The population counts are pretty bad right now.

Frostfell and Thistledown: Standard servers - Most areas are not pvp, still there are ample pvp area and pvp specific quest(s).  I recommend playing on one of these servers.  You can PvP when you want  and play without being griefed for the most part.  If you want PvP, you can certainly find it anytime.

If you need any assistance: message Spoonie Gee on Frostfell server. Also visit http://www.ac2hq.com

Easy, Tumerock or Human Melee class will give you your 'knight' class

Drop Celebrin a line on Frostfell if you need help.

    Asheron's Call2 - UT2004
    - Celebrin

I just recently started playing a few months ago, so I don't really know as to which class is great or bad. I do know though that a Lugian berserker is fun. Sure I have no shield so I take more damage, but I also deal out a lot of damage.image My friend tried a magic class and didn't like it much because it was very difficult to solo mobs. I on the other hand have no problem soloing mobs 2-5 levels above me.image

Level 10 human on the KvK server because I wanted to PvP; however, there were seldom more than 60 total peeps on so there really isn't any pvp. I did go thru a portal and get smacked early in the game but that was my only pvp death.

I am up to the esper ward quest )in millstone i think) and I am guessing it is bugged. The quest asks you to make a drudge cadre weapon from a quest recipe and use it to kill a cadre and bring his bone back. Well...the quest requires 25 bone to make the wep and he didnt give me any bone. So, I head to the drudge camp anyway and kill a cadre and loot his bone. I try to turn it in, nope. Then I try to put it in the crafting recipe - maybe i need to kill 25 of them, then make the wep, then use it to kill 26...nope, isn't the right type bone to make the wep. Heh, that is when I logged.

You guys are on Frostfell? I might play on one of the more active ones and see if it is cool grouping. I only saw like three four other players the entire night =/ .

Bone is also is a butchered material that you get off mob corpses.

Look in your crafting menu and make yourself a starter butcher knife and use this on mob corpses. Before long you will be raking in the traits (including bone, tallow, sinew and chitin - which are all used in crafting).

OK thanks.  I am going to read up a bit on the crafting.
