its under nda still so no one can tell you the real bad things almost everyone who says good or bad things about both aoc and war haven't even played them. umm but aoc will probably be laggy? lol who knows
umm have to have a guild to participate in high end pvp and pve?
Only things I can think of is that it may require a really good pc, at least to see it with quality settings. Also I have read somewhere in these forums that the games world is fairly small. But that may just be when compared to certain other MMO's. Think thats it for now. Oh, maybe everything wont be the exact same as it is in the Conan novels, which may anger hardcore fans, but I dont know. It will most likely to the novels justice. Only time will tell buddy.
I would consider myself a fanboy and have been following this game for some time. One major concern is the system requirements and how well the game will look on my pc. With high quality graphics and large scale siege pvp, I fear performance might be an issue. Another concern is being forced to join or form a large guild in order to be competitive in pvp. Of course this is all speculation at this point but it is only natural to be a bit skeptical until a game releases.
Wow! No Doom replies?
I am skeptical of the dialoge selection process when doing quests. It seems that you can select your response to the NPCs and that will determine how you continue with the quests. Knowing that FC made The Longest Journey using that method and it worked allows me to breath easy but I wasnt a big fan of The Longest Journey.
As for the system specs needed, I have no worries there Just build my new Vista Ultimate 64bit system with a G-Force 8800 GTX and 8 gigs of ram. I think I can handle it

I got one. It supports 64 bit systems and multi-core processors but doesnt fully utilize them. Meaning you can play AoC on any 64 bit system, but its client is still using 32 bit binaries.
Does that make any difference? I have no idea, Im sure there is some performance boost for 64 it applications but I have no idea by how much.

Since anything really bad would be blocked by the NDA, I doubt you'll get much in the way of answers right now. Once that comes off, I'm sure we'll see a floodgate of posts by those who think there are major problems (if past game releases are any indicator)
In the end, we'll all have to just play it to form our own opinions I suppose.

Well the graphics requirement are apparently higher than other mmos, and the combat system they havde made is something that hasent been made for a mmo before, so it has a higher risk.. that is all i can say since i havent tried it yet
Problems? This game doesnt have problems.
The millionth delay might be a problem tho.
Shield icons are lame. They should pay a guy to make animations for blocking every side. This is far from expensive.
Each guild will only be allowed to own one keep. So once they get a keep, its seems they won't have much to do. I think this will be a problem
My bigest problem with this game is:
Limited race.
Not a big fan of Conan
Solo untill 20
Im a computer only gamer and support by buying all my games.
The are targueting X-Bot players. (not me)
My prediction is it will release on date like they have promised then....
Will be payed Beta for 6 to 8 months
They will use the computer market to pay for there bug fixing & polishing untill they can get it out on X-Bot. (cause there probably Dry as we speek)
(There actual intended Market. X-Bot , not me)
They just need me as a ginny pig , and of course my 15$ a month to fund there final adjustments
so they can then release There X-bot game befor December. And becom the king of all X-bot game.
If you really want to play this game do yourself a favor & wait for it on X-Bot.
Well thats just my prediction. Hopfully it will have 5 diffrent races and 20 diffrent class's
They wont get into the Conan lore to much
Dump the solo till 20 and X-bot As there targueted prefured platform.
Do you belive ???
It is so obvious that you haven´t read anything about this game, and that you are FPS fan, not RPG.
Ya it makes me wonder and I have a pre-order on it but..
NDA certainly didn't stop the flow of info about Vanguard.
There was so much negative coming out about that .. that I actually didn't believe it. Then I got in Vanguard beta and um.. ya.
Anyway I personally am hoping that the apparantly lack of a flaming "omg this game sucks" leak.. means that its going "well" at least as well as MMO's go. There isn't exactly a long history of solid launhes for MMO's in general and yes I played through AO beta -> Launch and the first year of that game.
But as I said.. I still have a pre-order so its wait and see time.
i dont know if im allowed to say this, but i have asked some people who are in the beta, and so say the only raitng i have gotten from them, is a solid 8/10, and since its still only in beta, that is pretty good, if you ask me..
The pve part I think we will have to wait till the NDA is lifted to get a real answer...
1. I'm not in Beta.
2. I think you only have "one" race/side like in LOTRO.
And in LOTRO they made something called Monsterplay. You can make your own monster to fight others players in PvP. It's sounds great, but trust me it's not. Worst PvP I ever done in my life.
3. This game seems to need a strong computer. That might be a problem for people.
Played:
From Earth & Beyond, Anarchy Online, Matrix Online, Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft, Age of Conan, Tabula Rasa (Beta), EvE Online, City of Villians, Atlantica Online, Guild Wars, Lineage 2, Pirates of the Burning Sea, PlanetSide, RF Online, Second Life, Fallen Earth.
I'm afraid the animations won't cover for the fact that each shield cuts down a percentage of the damage inflicted and one can have more than one shield at one side. Doesn't really show which side is partially or totally exposed either.
And then you have the ranged combat to consider in the mix ...
Edit: Typos as usual.
End game pvp will be mostly about Guild vs Guild. There will also be instanced CTF pvp.
If you are not a part of a guild, you can always be hired as a mercenary to fight for one.
