Hi all,
I have been playing eve for 3-4 years and have done everything from large scale cap warfare to small gangs and pirating. thing is i have acomplished the goal i set myself (i never thouight i acctually would) and i am struggling to play eve it has become more of a chore than a game which of course isn't how it should be!
So after all that waffle, the reason i am here of course is to ask the experts (lol) what games are looking good, i have tried guild wars (dull and tedious), wow (again boring) eve (completly engrosing for 3 yrs), o and planetside (played for all of 5mins) and a couple of others that i no longer remeber :-P
i love RPG's and i like a game to have depth. i don't however want to be spending my time on me own!. any suggestions i'd appreciate some direction :P lol.
Cheers,
Mal

maybe Lineage 2 or Dark Age of Camelot
best shot is probably waiting for new mmos to be released this summer
EQ2 fan sites
forgot to say i have tried dark age of camemlot too.... didn't wanna have to wait lol....
Everything is crap at the moment. Play some single player RPGs to pass time. EVE is still the game in terms of depth and pvp.
Serious death penalties makes every close call an adrenaline rush, and every minor achievement a major victory. This alternative rule-set should be in all MMORPGs.
well WAR and AOC would be the popular choices
final fantasy 11 if you like rpg and want hardcore or eq2...whic is casual friendly
Well thats a toughy, I just personally myself picked eve up a I want to finally give the game a shot. Played it off and on for a few years since release but never spent more than 2 - 3 weeks in at a time.
Going to fire up a empire war corp and give it a shot.
Splitting my time between it and the warhammer beta should keep me relatively entertained till either WAR or AOC releases.
As for what I recommend... atm if you have played DAOc there really isnt much out there thats worth a damn honestly.
Shadowbane has good pvp, fast leveling, an amamzing amount of different ways to make a character, lots of politics, its free, and they are about to restart the servers
someone else suggested Lineage 2. Id also recommend it if you enjoy PvP games. Theres a lot of content and the PvP is IMO about as good as it gets.
just choose your server wisely. Barts or Hinde are good. If your not from the US try Teon or Franz, either has an excellent pop.
"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a robot foot stomping on a human face -- forever."
I wouldn't suggest anything atm seeing as you've played or tried the best the genre has to offer.
your stuff. i can has?
to be honest, planetside is a good laugh, its old now, but if you have the eve organisation gene you should have a blast.
WAR, Chronicles of Spellborn, Jumpgate Evo. Thats about it. Afraid you'll have to wait for all of them.

Bummer!
When you have tried many (crappy) games and _then_ discover Eve, you're like "wtf it's amazing, I'm playing this game till the server goes down". That's what happened to me.
So I would not want to be in your shoes right now, OP.
You may not have started your MMO experience with Eve, but at least you managed to get bored of it. And now, all you have left is very high expectations with no other games around to meet them. (hope I'm wrong for your sake )

Waiting for: GW2
*thumbs up*: GW, Eve(, WoW)
*thumbs down*: MO, GA, FE
a lot of interesting responses and no you cant have my stuff lol....nice try though. Guess ill have to wait was thinking about pirates of the burning sea any one playing that?
It's going to be hard to show you something as deep as EVE but Vanguard, EQ2 or even WOW are good games to play.
I've been thinking about Pirates but everything is an instance in that game. It's worse then our little deadspace pocket.
EVE sucks.. You are a lost soul
Take a well earned internet break for some X3 (or even Elite IV when it releases), and then get in on any of the new MMO's that release on launch day.
Best way to get in with a new crowd is when every one on the server has the same problem. New games or even just newly opened servers on exisiting games.
Pretty much any game on the market will offer you as much depth as Eve. If you let it. These things take time. You don't learn oll the ins and outs of a game in 5 days, you haven't forged the networks in the first week. Take a break so that when you return you aren't suffering from an Eve hang-over and expecting the game to be as rewarding in the first 5 minutes as Eve was for you after a 3 year commitment.
